Hello all,

I have spent the last two days playing this mission by Markb50k. For people who do not know it, it is a dynamic conquer the island mission for single player. I find.it incredibly immersive and frankly I hadn't expected it. In this mission u see actual frontlines emerging. I personally really enjoy it.

Now I read in the BIS forums that he gave permission to try to port it over to Iron front. I was wondering if anyone ever tried it or is willing to try it? Personaly the scripting stuff flies right over my head and do not wish to spent my limited free time in learning to.

Is that scenario for Arma2  or for Operation Arrowhead or for Combined Operations?

Does it require any add ons?



As for the scripts you can use copy and paste.

However the units in the 2 games are 100% different so every unit would have to be placed individually.

Most units would have to be named.

Most units would have an instruction in the init field. As the weapons are different it would need a new instruction. Copy and paste would not work.

Every trigger would have to be inserted manually and their fields added manually. 

Effectivly a brand new scenario.  You cannot port it nor copy and paste.

As Mark50k  has already completed it once before he would know all the tricks to do it again in Iron Front.

probably replacing all units in the editor, as well as class names of weapons, magazines, units and vehicles in other files is all that needs to be done

It is a mission for ARMA2:CO. I am not sure how it exactly works but I read on the forum where Gunter points to that what kju says correct is. All units are generated during mission start and/or during game play. It can be used with a lot of mods but you don't have to. It can be played with a vanilla game. What I have read although I didn't quit understand it the problems might be twofold. First the map has to be a good one where the ai doesn't get into a lot of problems with its pathfinding. Buildings have to be enterable by ai. Not sure if that is one and the same problem but my second might be that the mission supports three sides and I believe Iron front has only two?
