Having recently bought the D -Day dlc I was surprised to see that on my system it only shows a couple of new missions - reviews refer to another campaign  and significant content. Having downloaded the dlc when I open IF it shows "DLC" in top right corner but clicking on it etc does nothing. The game purports to be at 1.5 patch.

Doubtless a basic error but help would be gratefully appreciated.

Apologies if this is on the wrong fora but none appeared obvious

There is no campaign, only a couple of missions, to use the best out of the DLC is to create missions in the editor using its content.

whilst my experience is the same the reviewers indicate otherwise

"This expansion of Iron Front adds a brand new campaign in which you can revive the 1944 D-Day. A lot of new weapons, vehicles and the Allies faction, can grant hours of additional play, both in single and multiplayer. Probably one of the best DLC for this game."Cavalieroscuro at Green Man gaming.

So they are lying - had that been clear would not have bought since at present struggling with very basic editing. It will have to be the Arma II mod then

thanks

I too struggles with basic editing for some weeks.  And then it all clicked.  In the 3 games, Arma2, Operation Arrowhead and Iron Front I don't play any campaigns or missions. I create my own missions with the editor. Its much easier than you might imagine.

it may well be even to a computer illitereate like me, but unfortunately the time commitment to edit properly will have to wait til I retire[frown] Otherwise it will be t]like the space rocket launch on the old "BBC B" computer - great feeling of triumph but then "what next?  O it does the same thing all over again - how interesting" syndrome.! In a perfect woprld all you talented editors would put your best missions up for us lazy passenger-types to try out. As a matter of fact that could be one thing which would make IF fly- a virtually unlimited number of missions to chose from................

The editor may seem complicated at first, but it isn't complicated in the least one you get the very basics, as soon as you get the basics it's basically googling what you want to do, but note if you want to, for example, create tasks in a mission, search it on google but don't search it as "Iron Front how to create tasks" but use "Arma 2 how to create tasks" because the editor is exactly the same as Arma 2's and since Arma 2 is a lot more active in communitys, a lot more editing tips are posted in relation with Arma 2. Here is a video which helped get started in editing in Iron Front as well as Arma 2 !

All the best,

@dhw if you click the banner at the top of the forums "Mission Repository" you will find many community made missions,  feel free to browse and download the ones you want to try if not all

This is a link to the single player section which has 33 missions http://www.missionrepository.com/singleplayer-33

I wrote an Editor Tutorial with pretty pictures in the Help thread here-

http://ironfront.forumchitchat.com/post/iron-front-editor-tutorial-6564610

Trust me, you can build a simple mission inside 5 minutes tops, it's FUN building missions!
For example simply select a sniper (he'll be you) and place him on the map, then place an enemy sniper but give him a random placement circle of say 500 yards diameter, then go hunt him down.
The random placement means you won't know in which direction he is, or how near or far away.
And every time you play the game, he'll be in a different place, so the game will be fresh and re-playable over and over.
Tip:- spot him before he spots you..[wink]

PS- don't forget to save the game under any name you like such as "Fugitive", and later you might want to have fun tweaking it by adding new units. For example you could control a bot squad and tell them- "Looks like we got ourselves a fugitive..What I want out of each and everyone of you is a hard target search of every residence, warehouse, farmhouse, hen house, outhouse and doghouse in that area"

PS- you can post any questions about anything in the Help thread.

And there is a thread here named "Single Player Missions".  They are uploaded there.

apologies - I just noticed that the whole "is DLC" worth it was canvassed in March!   Thatnks for the info - re sp missions there are a number in Mission Repositiory but Joe 98's dont appear there- any reason? Is there anywhere else I should check?

Obviously I cannot play the multiplayer/p v p / or co-op on my own but how about the campaigns?
