I'm a complete newby, but somehow I took to it like a duck to water.

Hi Luftwaffles,

I have downloaded your campaign, and will check it out, atm i have little time to with getting ready for work, and other misc projects, mods, mod team, and things going on.
I will give you some feedback sometime this week. But thanks for making the missions, the community can always use more Iron front missions.

Hey Luftwaffles,
Before I get your campaign setup on the MR, I want to create a page for it, for example something like this:

or this:
http://www.missionrepository.com/panzer-leader-series-13

So what i need from you if you want to do something like that is a name for your campaign, would it be Fiery_July?
and maybe a picture to represent the campaign, up to you.

Also are these 3 missions you have the only missions for this campaign your doing, or do you plan on expanding it?

I will definitely make up a picture and description and all of that. It'll probably be a day or two, though. So far, this was my first campaign, so I'm going to make it a stand-alone German mini-campaign. I'm going to work on a small Russian campaign next, so, yeah, I think that will be all for that one. And Fiery July is fine (I couldn't think of another name lol).

No offense, but I think, that they are very simple(difficulty too). They don't have the atmosphere of WWII.

I understand what you're saying; I was really trying to make things simple and fun (like reenacting the boring ride up to the town). Some of the user-made missions I've played are so AI heavy and overwhelming that it's like playing the game on an Tiger electronic gaming watch : ). And the more stuff there is to go wrong, the more likely something is going to bug and not go right, too. So, staying within my limits, I just tried to make things fun for people who enjoy the game like I do, doing things like driving in columns to battle sites, watching artillery hit, seeing muzzle flashes from Zis-3s in the distance, and participating in battles, and just driving historically accurate vehicles and things like that, while keeping the margin of error for things to go wrong within a minimal range -which lends back to your simplicity observation. So that's true : ) I didn't particularly want to have a 2 minute mission to ambush T-34's in that town, but I thought that it would have been the more believable thing to happen immediately after the first battle to retake the town and serve as a segue into the next mission "into the hornets' nest."

But thank you for your constructive criticism and playing my missions!

My next set of missions is going to be in an SU-85

I played your missions Luftwaffles, I thought the first 2 missions were very short, and to easy, the 3rd one was pretty good, although I think if you want
to make a mission more interesting for sp anyways make more playable units, this way you can keep playing if you die.
But the Artillary setup towards the end there was pretty good, i liked it.

I also had a play last night and must agree, the 1st 2 were very short and pretty easy, but the last one was good, I didnt manage to get close enough to take out any artillery, but enjoyed it all the same. A great start to your mission building, I look forward to some more

PS And yes adding more playable units can make it better for single player and also gives the option to multiplayer it.

I played these and enjoyed them.

In real life soldiers are killed and the surviving soldiers tell their stories afterwards.  These games are based on the stories of the survivors. If the scenario is too hard and my character is killed over and over again then, well, there is no fun.

I agree that too easy = no fun either so it must be a balance.

Anyhow my only suggestion is to rename the missions.  The current names are:

Take Back Yablonica!

Ch2_Stragglers.Staszow

Ch3_Into_the_hornet’s_nest.Stazow

 

May I suggest new names so they sit more easily scenarios screen:

Ch1_Take Back Yablonica!

Ch2_Stragglers.

Ch3_Into_the_hornet’s_nest.

I tried renaming the missions, but for some reason if "staszow" isn't on the end, it doesn't recognize it in the scenarios. Also, I tried Ch1_Take Back Yablonica! but for some reason it keeps taking the Ch1 off
