Hello, it seems the sounds for the Thompson and hand held MG42 are broken, the gun fires but it only plays the sound of a 9 round burst even when holding down the fire button.

Welcome to the IF Fan Forums Ethridge!
I dont think IFA2 is being supported anymore in terms of patches coming out for it to fix various bugs or issues, it might be better idea to have a modder
or someone to fix some of the issues reported then a whole new patch for the mod from kju or the team, as IFA3 is the main focus.

I could be wrong. But I am pretty sure I started having the issue once Arma Co suddenly updated in steam. It's a bit strange considering this wasn't too long ago. I reinstalled everything by the book,but the sound issue persisted..

As Gunther says, the future is IFA3. But I am curious whether that update caused it and if there's an easy fix somehow (?).

Hello, I don't believe kju is going to make anymore updates for IFA2, which is sad, I still play IFA2 and very much enjoy playing it (combined with i44, ace, etc) And I don't know any modders that could fix it and I have very limited knowledge of modding [smile] Do you think you might could fix it Gunter? it seems like a small issue and its the only big problem ive noticed in the game.

If I knew how i would, I'd fix all the issues, add more content, i'd do a ton of stuff, but I'm a compiler not a coder, scripter, I'm trying to see if theres
any modders I do know that can code, and script to look at the issue and fix it, considering its a sound issue i have 2 guys in mind that might know how to fix it.

Thanks [smile] by the way, ive started on a retexture for the IFA2 US Army infantry, very accurate, similar to the new models for the IFA3 ones. Someone may wanna take a look at it.

Finally got the post up with pictures and a download for my retexture, Barto. Check it out! Also, I would be very, very, grateful if someone could help me with creating a new category of units that will show up under the US Army faction in the editor.

Hello,
After getting ArmA2CO last year, I now found the time to appreciate Iron Front as well. The IFA2 mod is an amazing achievement. 
I am posting here because I worked on a fix for the MG 42 and Thompson sound issue in v1.13. The fix is nothing special: I just set soundContinuous = 0 in the config of those weapons, and then they are OK again. Mod file for download here:

(This mod also contains two replacement sounds; one for the Thompson and one for the M2 .50 cal. The M2 also has a lowered rate of fire, matching the value of A2:BAF DLC. )

There seems to be another weapon sound issue. The SVT-40 and G43 have a firing sound as a reload sound, which becomes very noticable once you try to mod the firing sound.

Fix:

Create a mod out of it, if its not already, and run it like a mod at the end of IFA3.
So like this create a folder name it @SoundFix then inside create another folder named addons, then put the
pbo files inside that , then add the @SoundFix at the end of your startup parameter of IFA3.
