Dear All,

I have liaised with, Sander, whom has made an original coop mission pack for IFL:44 and he has given me permission to convert these to IFA3.

I have made a start with the SP/Coop mission, IFA3 Co14 Automatic Drive, which I have released on my steam workshop. (See below)

Summary
The conversion to IFA3, included the following additions:

  • I have put in new versions of the F3 mission framework;
  • Added in a IFA3 only limited Virtual Ammo System Box(VAS);
  • Added in a paradrop system for mission insert options;
  • Added CH View Distance Script by champ-1;
  • Increased performance significantly by implementing ZBE_Cache AI & Vehicle caching by zorrobyte;
  • In the mission startup parameters the mission admin can choose from 3 different medical systems and 3 different radio TS3 plugin systems:

Medical System options include:

BIS default; F3 simple wounding; AGM medical system

Radio options include:

Default BIS; TFAR; ACRE; ACRE2

Mission admin, can from the briefing screen, choose a range of Zeus options if needed. This utilses the F3 Zeus Support component which is a collection of functions that make it easier for advanced users to designate themselves, or any player, as curator ("Zeus") using the debug console.

Download
I am happy for these following mission links and the mission downloads to be held on other websites.

If you wish to download this mission please see details below:

IFA3 Co14 Automatic Drive

I will continue to convert more of Sander's IFL44 mission pack over the coming months.

Hope you like it and please enjoy.

Happy new year

Hey Ho! Excellent work Chief - lots more IFA3 Missions please : -)
I have been enjoying using the new A3 High Command structure in your missions, which seems an essential part (if you want to survive!).
High Command sets a really good pace to a mission and I find you can settle into them to make sure all your team pull through.
One thing I was having problems with; and I read it was common enough with A3, was getting the High Command support groups to get into vehicles?
I can recommend running the @HC_Transport [Six Link] mod when playing the missions, it makes these commands very simple.
Just load the mod alongside the +IFA3 set, and select '6' when a High Command Team is selected.
You'll find 'Transport Load/Unload' - 'Crew Enter/Exit' - 'Engine On/Off' - 'Toggle Side Chat' and also 'Helo Land/Hover' (not needed for IFA3 missions for obvious reasons) options as a one click select.
It makes getting your Sherman crews and support teams into any available transport a fast and easy exercise - hope this helps!

Cheers mate. Have tried the hc transport mod. Very useful. Maybe complete some more missions again soon. Need some time though.

Hi All

I have just updated this mission with the latest F3 mission framework, UPSMON  AI,  ZBE cache  and CH View Distance scripts. In addition, I have removed the virtual ammo system scripts by TONIC and added in the vanilla BIS Virtual Arsenal to a weapon crate. Lastly, I have removed the ability to respawn back at base.

Have fun. Happy for any feedback.

This mission can be linked or uploaded to any other site.

The mission can be found on my steam workshop:

Heya!
The VAS seems the ideal way to set some areas for re-arming, kit and weapon alternatives in-Mission, so I've installed the VAS that you've used for 'Automatic Drive' into an IFA3 Mission I am putting together on Baranow.
I'd like to be able to use the loadout (or very similar) you've used?
Permission to borrow the config's to set that up please?
It would save me a helluva lot of time as I track through the classlist's needed to fill it.
At the moment all I have are the basic D-Day weapons and ordnance stored and ready, but I'd also like to have some of the extra kit you've made available at the VAS in 'Auotmatic Drive'.

No problem Foxsch. You can use it. I am now longer using VAS in my missions, only the Bis virtual arsenal.

OK thx!
If all OK I could post this up on a similar thread request?
If Mike knows how to de-pbo the Mission, he should be away!

Well that was bit of a non-starter...I spent hours trying to figure out why the box was loading so slowly. Several minutes before even the first items began to show! Going through every detail to check; then I thought *Maybe a conflict with the HAL that the Mission it is for? That was it - I loaded a Vanilla Mission without HAL and bingo - the exact same sprang to life. I should post it up on the VAS thread at BI but reading through it seems there is a tide change in using VAS anyway. I don't think (I maybe wrong) that it would help anybody or Tonic anyways. Something about ARMA 3 updates rendering badly with the VAS set-up?? Worked fine without HAL - I'll post it up anyway, you never know it might be helpful - cheers again!

Might be worth switching to the virtual arsenal system instead of VAS.

I'm reading that the Virtual Arsenal System is now built in to ARMA 3 as a development from Beta, have I got that right?

Correct. VA is now built into arma 3 as standard. https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arsenal

Seems sensible to use this ~ the A3 Editor is maze enough as it is without complicating things further. Decision made

Using the Virtual Arsenal in a 'Mission' scenario is ideal. I'd only ever tried it out in the Virtual Test Areas of the Vanilla game.
There is an 'export' function available, which I hadn't used before now.
Your load out and Uniform is copied to your clipboard and you can check off the class-names for any (and all!) of the ARMA 3 Items and equipment you are wearing or carrying - including any or all of the Iron Front and US items / clothing / weapons etc, select 'export' when your equipped, minimize the game and paste the clipboard into ##notepad or whatever you use - excellent!
Check the Modding section of the wiki page Chief posted : -)

You can restrict the virtual arsenal for IFA3 only items by adding the following to the init of a ammo crate:

Quote:
null=[this] execVM "virtual_arsenal_init.sqf"

Then create a file called: "virtual_arsenal_init.sqf". Copy and paste the following to the  virtual_arsenal_init.sqf to give you a restricted set of items for the virtual arsenal.

Quote:

//Init stuff
_crate = _this select 0;
["AmmoboxInit",[_crate,false,{true}]] spawn BIS_fnc_arsenal;

//Set only Iron Front Weapons.
//Lists of items to include
