Dust CTI

[dustCTI] 

Classic Conquer The Island mission now in ArmA3 reworked state.
No Base, No Factories and you need to control all towns to win.
(you still get to build stuff in town centers or at roadblocks)

4 versions so far, Staszow normal and one for WarModSA (RedArmy/Wehrmacht) and Stratis plus OmahaBeach/Colleville featuring Wehrmacht and US Army.

Read all about in ingame map menu under "About". Well almost all, the rest you need to figure out as you go.

Drop files in "MPMissions" folder for multiplayer or in "missions" for singleplayer.

Built and tested in the previous IFA3 but a few quick runs with the new LITE it seems to work ok but I bet you will get some errors sometime.

As always with CTI missions, they run best on dedicated servers.

Revision 2 is now available with same link above. Adds the new ArmA3 respawn and Chernarus plus Chernarus Winter (to go with Winterland addon in seperate thread).


Known Issues:
New ArmA3 respawn might offer you to respawn in enemy held town.
Chernarus Winter gives a thin line on screen when in some (all?) vehicles

I suppose it would be too much to ask for some other of your game modes to make the transition?

Again thanks for helping out with the lite version of IFA3 and nice to see you active again in the IF community!!!

I think I might be adding IFA3 lite to my server this weekend to run this mission specifically!! Stay Tuned...

Great job Oden

Mate and I gave it a go on our server last night [biggrin]

Couple issues
  • respawn - stopped working after a little while, players would have to exit the game and re enter & in doing so they would lose all their cash.
  • arrow keys - stopped working part of the respawn issue not able to select a town.
  • repair vehicle - spawned a repair truck to fix a tank but nothing happened, repair indicator appeared on screen but tracks still missing on tank.

other than that it was good fun [smile]

Good finds dS, I had a respawn error counter script in the ArmA2 version but hoped that should not be needed - I'll put it back with the upcoming Chernarus Winter version.
Not sure about that Repair Vehicle thing but I had that happen in Berezino myself so something is not what it should.

Another know bug is the coin interface, I have been stuck in there and hte only way out was to respawn - beware of that one too (I'll try to add some ESC function to close it).

QUESTION: is it possible to add weapon caches in the option list? like how you purchase tanks etc. a variety weapons to shoot would be nice [smile]

Weapons caches are deliberately kept away but the WarModSA version gives the option to put the WarMod weaponboxes on the ground still keeping the weapons in there (all other versions have a clearAllWeapons on spawn).

theOden, it is one of the best games-news of the year for me ! I've waited since Arma 2 for a good WW2 CTI, as I've played a looot of them in OFP [smile]. I've send You an e-mail with some questions about the mission.

Great mission, can you make a tutorial for how to use Geist mod in this mission? Or at least tell me which files should I edit?

in coin.sqf and Functions.sqf
search for:
case "LIB_WEHRMACHT"

You will find units in coin and flags etc in Functions

Also remember to update factions listed in the "Logic" object named "server" in the center of the map in the editor.
