Update
Quick update,
I had recorded a bunch of videos last night and well only 3 made the cut lol but their all gameplay vids, mainly just tests,
i had to remove 2 AI mods from the mod because i do not have permissions for either of them yet, atm I'm waiting a response
from both Authors of the mods, as I had sent them pm's on Bis forums a couple of days ago hopefully they'll get back to me real soon.

Right now I'm compressing 2 of the vids to a smaller size so the upload to utube wont take so long, I have 1 video already
uploaded and its going through some processing, i'll post them when their done and ready.

3 bugs and 1 random debug message
Right now the mod has 3 bugs
  1. The M1 Garand and the Carbine (from the DLC) have missing textures so they look black and white atm im looking into it
  2. Apon startup of the game before Arma3 gets loaded theres a config error message, you'll have close that before the game starts to load (i know what mod causes it, and trying to figure out how to remove it)
  3. Apon getting to the main menu of the game, theres 2 errors that popup, and they are ACE related, something to do with ballistics, atm i have no idea how to fix it
  4. while ingame once in a while when an explosion or a tank round hits something you get a message that pops up, sometimes you get it other times you wont, it dont effect the game

Ya idk when the patch will be out for IFA3 but as long as we are waiting my mod might be ready before then.

1st video
In this vid i was pinned from behind, as there was more fire, so i came up to the corner and there were more enemy,
so I had to fight there to try to get ahead as there was no place to go. Normally when i play I make most of the units on the side im on playable
so i can switch to them, this is in sp.
Also note I took the recoil out, but thats my preference, when the mod is released the recoil feature will be in there, remember the mod is customizable what you see in my vids for WIP aren't final, plus having two Ai mods removed the AI isn't performing some of the features they were which was crazy, AI are still crazy as you can see in the vid.

These AI soldiers threw a grenade at me right when i got at the corner, then threw an AT grenade of all things like 3/4 through the vid, and if you watch at the end right before I died they had thrown another grenade which you can see bouncing past then blows up WTF these guys are rough!!!! [crazy]

Update

In this video the Americans are trying to recapture colleville, they already entered the town and 2 American squads and 1 Sherman have been tasked
to clear the town of the German Occupiers.
Germans in the town have 1 At gun (Pak40), stat mg, and 5 infantry squads and a panzer 4.
  • Just to make a note about the mission, its merely to show some AI features and how they respond, as well as some other effects
  • you may notice a couple of things 1 the 2 weapons without textures (m1 Garand & the Carbine) Im still working to solve those 2 issues, the other thing
  • you may notice is the lack of recoil, yes I took that out for my own game play this is how I prefer to play, but the recoil as I said to another will actually be fixed with the next patch for IFA3, until then when IFA3WarMod releases the recoil, the medical aspect will be in the mod, you can remove them if you wish as the mod is customizable, the videos atm only reflect the current state of the mod and is not the final thing, so if you have any concerns about stuff or questions please feel free to ask.

This vid demonstrates the scoped SVT and the silenced Mosin nagant as well as Silenced pistol, dont think i was really aiming
for stealth or taking the gameplay serious, was more fun to just use the weapons, also watch how the Ai respond!

I will have some more videos this week to demonstrate more stuff, next couple of vids will demonstrate some of the various
new guns in action, and the recoil the mod will add.
I was asked yesterday on one of my vids about the recoil if it will be in the mod.
Yes the recoil will be in the mod along with the ACE medical.

In my videos so far just to let you guys know I took out the recoil feature for myself, understand and I repeat this many times
that all my WarMods are customizable this means you can remove or add features if you want, removing features really wont break
anything unless something else is dependent on it,but adding something may either give you an error or it may work depends.

Right now I am waiting for approval on 2 more permissions that I had sent pms out for late last week, I may also have some more
new additions to the mod but atm idk yet, as for the missing textures on the 2 guns from the DLC I working with 2 guys from the
IFA3 team that made them and will find out soon how to fix or what the issue is.

My plan and goal is still to release on the August 15th, or 16th which is this coming weekend whether that happens or not depends
on what I get figured out and sorted this week with the errors, or issues i have so far, I'm hoping to get them fixed before release then
I cant say for sure, but theres still alot more work I have to do yet, and I'd rather be ready then release early when the 15th, or 16th
comes around I will let you know in an update if Im able to or not, but Im aiming for it.

Yes they are AI they are a squad that came up from the rear to attack the town. IFA3WarMod currently has 3 AI mods in it,
so what you see the German soldiers aside myself doing taking cover and what not are because the influence of the mods in the mod,
there are two other mods in addition to whats in the mod I had to remove as I did not have permission to include those yet.

I dont want to record any vids with those mods and get people thinking thats how the AI is when I did not have permissions yet,
so right now theres 3 mods for AI and they do pretty well. Normally when i play I put down various units and make them all playable
so when I die I can switch to them and keep playing, so all my vids I have recorded are all
SP and in the editor.

Ya I'm finding it fun to record vids, sometimes I have no ideas on what to record though, my vids dont look spectacular like
some of the vids, with all kinds of crazy camera angles, but if you have any ideas of something I can record then let me know,
I have a few things in mind just need to record them.

Off the top of my head, a bunkered heavy mg covering Omaha Beach during the landings?
But tbh, game play of any of the missions available, including the Map and Objective parts, are great to watch.
The camera angle thing (UnitCapture I think it was called?) took me a lot of time to understand and try and set up.
I haven't dug out anything I was trying, and it was with ARMA 2 anyways.
A couple of questions: Are you going to release the missions you set up to test @IFA3WARMOD (or any of the other missions you've put together)?
And also, have you had time to test the mod with HETMAN as the players commander?
i.e. a medium to large-scale scenario pitching HETMAN against the AI qualities of the mod?

I guess I could but they aren't anything special, there are no real objectives (tasks setup) all my missions are squads plopped down with waypoints, and some statics, for example that Collville Assault video all I did there was put down 2 American squads, made them all playable, made one of the soliders in the squad playable and then put down an ammobox with Arsenal on it, then a Sherman behind it at the start of the village.
Then For the Germans all I did was put down about 5 squads with waypoints, a couple statics that you see in the vid, and a tank, thats it, theres no briefings, no tasks, you start you fight, i like to get into the action almost right away I dont like running 20 miles for a half hour to get to some objective then fighting a squad, like I said with WarMod its more a Run n gun type mod, thats why I have no sway, and a solid steady shot, I cannot stand for the life of me the dam gun moving, its hard as it is to just shoot an enemy.
Anyways if you guys want I can include them, but all they are editor made missions for sp, not exported or anything, i have a bunch of them.

No i never have tested it, or even have given it any thought, I never really actually played with that either so I'm not 100% sure how it
even works even though IFR released it along with our stuff in 2013, lol

New weapon to be included!
Just a little news for you guys, I have another gun that I have been allowed to include with the mod, the gun is not done yet, so Idk how long it will be before its done, the gun was actually donated to me back in 2013 by Justfighter to my IFR team, but the team never had the chance to work on it, so the IFA3 team guys took up the project which i just found out, among other things, the gun is a Smg PPs-43
heres the model of it that was just finished I was told, and its being sent off for the configs.

Cool! Will there be units in the editor equipped with the new weapons as per default? Or will you have to type something in the init box to call the weapons?
In case of the latter it would be great with a little list in the release that has the init line ;-)

No I dont have any units for the new weapons, nor codes, new units with the weapons already would be cool though but
I usually get the weapons from arsenal just add arsenal to an ammo box and all the weapons will be there.
Wouldn't know how to do the code.

In other news, I solved the issue with the missing textures, apparently its not from the mod after all but an outdated version of the DLC I have,
so one less issue to worry about now [wink]
Uploading a new vid as I type this, so new vid coming soon, demonstrating another weapon from the mod.

Update
Some news:

  • Just received permission for another mod I wanted to add, waiting for one more permission, I have not recording any videos of it yet and will be doing that.
  • Still testing and tweaking the mod as I go, when i say tweak I mean the mods that have userconfigs, as well as various other mods I have that im testing as Im looking for a balance between Run N Gun Realism, and Realism, so overall fun but not to gamy where its not believable.
  • Testing some new stuff

New Release date
Sorry guys but the release for 15/16th will be postponed to August 23rd (sunday)
I'm going to add another week to release the mod, i think i expected to much from myself, also energy and time wise my job has been
killing me this past week because of the overtime I been doing so I havent been able to get alot done, so I am aiming for August 23rd to release.
Why the 23rd and not Saturday the 22nd?
Because I get off work sat mornings after 7am, usually Friday nights I end up doing 10-12hrs and get home about 9-10am,
and i'm usually a freaking zombie, sunday is a better day for me energy wise and I have off.

Pt2 of the video above is on the way, need to compress and upload.
Will have some more vids after, and im thinking Im going to take some screenshots of the weapons included in the mod as well.
