About Us
What is IFR - Iron Front Revival?

IFR is a name T_Roc and I (Gunter Severloh) coined in March 2013, IFR is short for Iron front Revival our team name,
the goal of the team as in our name is to revive Iron Front/DLC and bring it back to life.
Our team consists of fans of the game and of WW2 genre, the "fans" of the team have skills in scripting, coding, modelling,
textures, skins, and many other things, together we have joined forces to better Iron front by fixing the game, and expanding it.

  • Nebelwerfer 42 - (can be found under West\Wehrmacht\static\Nebelwerfer42
    Uses Artillery computer, no Artillery Module game logic needed, to order a nebelwerfer in your group to fire at a position,
    select the unit and chooses fire at location. Rocket flytime can be up to a minute, big spread, big damage radius, dont get yourself killed.) Video
  • Fallshirmjager - (German Paratroopers of the German Branch of the Luftwaffe)
  • Fg42 + zf4 + bipod
  • Granatbuechse 39 with SS pzgr 46 + SS pzgr 61 + Sprgr30 + ammocrate
  • Panzerfaust 60m + ammocrate
  • 97. Jäger Division - (97. Jäger Division, despite being a light infantry division one of the highest decorated formations of ww2.)
  • SS-Polizei Division - (Grenadier Division build of regular policeman. Himmler was commander of both.)

  • Vehicle respawn module - Respawn vehicles ingame with the module.
  • WW2 Footage effect - A  placeable visual effect module, that tries to apply on screen original WW2 footage monochrome look.
  • Bombing FixDefault "homing bomb" behavior replaced by expected way of bomb falling.
  • FAW - Functional AI Artillery
  • Hetman artificial Ai Commander - Artificial commander module.
  • Another kind of Boom - Reduces blast radius of aerial bombs and HE ordnance for artillery and tank or static guns;
    2. Instead adds shrapnel-like fragments to all explosions caused by these ammo. Amount and velocities of the fragments is dependent on kind of explosive and randomized in certain limits each boom.
  • Ragnarok'44 - New RTS mission based on Mondkalb's WOO, ported to IF with permission, Fixed, upgraded with many new features, and function.
  • IFWarMod -WarMod version for Iron front.

I offer my services to the community. I'm not a great modder, can only work a bit on the textures, and don't speak/read/write very good english. But i'm ready to help the community in order to allow this game/mod to still be alive.

Thanks for your insights Fudge, i will add you to the list, to me even if you can help with information, your knowledge is something,
knowledge is power, for me for example, I know how to do a few things, but not others so If i were to work on something and needed an
insight on something and one of you guys would say for example, just add this part to the code and this will happen, or whatever, this alone is
worth alot because you have helped me and the others get ahead, by helping us you help the community.

ya it sounds corny i guess but seriously we have been left by ourselves, and it will be up to us to go anywhere with the game, cough mod, lol

TBH I'm not personally interested in getting IF into Arma2CO, I would rather see IF use Arma2CO's engine, IF is still a game to me be it a spinnoff
I guess you could say of Arma2 but use the latest engine and fix the various aspects of the game were dealing with.
just because we may get IF to work in Arma2CO, dont mean the game/mod what have you still dont have its texture issues, or other feature or what not
that were still dealing with, this aint a cure all, but will be a great achievement when its done.

Thank you for your updates Gunter! I appreciate how you give such detailed information of what is going on. As for helping out, I have no technical skills in relation to making addons etc -but I have played since the OFP days and will be happy to assist as much as I can. I guess first of would be testing, but I could definitly also contribute on aspects of historical accuarcy -if that sounds interesting/usefull to you?

Interesting project and I really wish you guys succeed! I´m not (yet) experienced enough top try participating in it, though I learned a whole lot of the IF files and data by use of Vandrels IF debugger, that should enable retrieving much of the needed data. Currently busy with learning ASR_AI and TPWCAS sript files and oprimize/adapt them for better use in i44. That should also benefit IFL44, once it´s accessible though OA exe and CBA can be finally used as well. Other plans include island/map making, which already is one my domains in other (non BI) wargames for long time. So far I focus on i44, but I´ll shift to IFL44, once it´s doable.

Yes we will correct such problems. Thanks Foyle you just gave me the greatest idea!

Unofficial Iron Front Patch
I will create a thread in the same catagory here as this thread that will be a Report list, what it will be for is 2 separate categories, 1 for Iron Front
and the other one for the DDAY DLC.
The idea here is to correct or fix these issues with a patch, so the patch we would create would obviously be an official patch.
This stems from my memory the "mod" in Skyrim called the Unofficial Skyrim Patch and the changelog for that patch, yes its a mile long stemming back from March 2012!!
See where Im going with this.

Reporters
Now what we need from you guys the players is to basically when you play the game, or even if you want go through the game and report
any issues/problems, incorrect wording, messed up textures, or actions, or whatever in the game, just report it, this will be the same setup and layout as the wishlist for content,
the way this will work is when anyone reports an issue in the game either IF or the DLC I will add the issue to the list under the correct heading,
then I will add a link to your report post.

When you report
When you report
1. give the report a title
2. describe what the problem is,
if it needs screenshots or a vid then please do so.
your report will be just a reply to the thread, as i said I will then link your report to the list so when one of us on the (team)
is going to work on the report, we dont waste alot of time having to search through the whole thread lookign for what was reported.

More Modders & Members with Knowledge and Skills Needed
As you guys can see this is a huge project, so what im asking from the community members here is for
those that have knowledge in the following areas:
1. can read and Build configs
2. know how to texture
3. know how to model
4. know how to create addons
5. know how to implement codes into the game
6. can code or script, basically able to create scripts
7. Has an a very deep knowledge of WW2 history more specifically the theater that Iron Front is on and the DDay DLC
8. testers people that know how to test things and or look for certain things in the editor by using codes if necessary to reveal stuff

So as you can see we are not limited to who we are lookign for as i would prefer people that have knowledge on how to do some of the things listed.
if you can only texture then we want you, if you only know how to script but not texture, or model or anything else again we can use you.

Now it would be apparrent that there is a certain amount of time that we wish to ask of folks to spend on this project, i wouldn't ask of anyone to spend
all their freetime to help the team out and do what they do best, basically you will get done what you can, and or do in your own time that you have
when you are able and interested and can do it, being realistic though we dont want to spend large amounts of time on any one thing, so the general
idea is to keep working on something when you can til its done, and not be done with it a year later.

Realisticly i can see textureing, modelling, and creating an addon (adding content) to the game taking the longest, as there is coding, and testing
to make sure everything works.
So in that regards if anyone wants to join this team please let us know what you know how to do, and then we will add you to the list on the first post,
i will actually create a thread specifically for the team itself so that everyone can see who is working on what.

It's my category...but I'm bad speak English, sorry. But was prepared to help, long been interested in history and technic of WW2. I have the manual technique and weapon. You require such assistance?
