I am working on this but someproblems have showed up who might make our life a bit harder.
Anyway iam doing a "test" version who will make the addons maker to test their addons ingame.
This will however be an internal mod version and not available to everyone for the moment.

The 1.05 uppdate did mess things up for the modding part, from what i can see somethings have been done to prevent it.
But working on it.

I have a question, TRoc. If we could use Arma soldiers in IF, could IF's some unique anims be workable to them? Such as the death anims, flying-away helmets, etc.?

After a hard weekend with a lot of work on this, i have got it functional to 90%.
Some things left to do still.

@ofpcat
As it looks now all anims will work (not sure of the helmets) but this needs to be tested.
When the first test version is finished.

Fantastic news.  Will be so nice to have the game as a mod in Arma 2 with the others i have!!!!  Keep up the good work!!!

PS, question, if IF becomes a mod in Arma 2 and you build a scenario and combine units or objects from other mods and publish the scenario.  Do those who play the scenario online need to have all the mods or are the items/objects packed with the scenario you build in the PBO file? For instance, there are excellent fortifications from Invasion 44 and Hell in the Pacific.  If i used some in a IF44 scenario would they work without users have the Mod?

@shpagin  - I don't think the purpose of what is being done at the moment in this project is to make ironfront a mod for arma 2, its purpose is to be able to fix the issues that still remain in the game and maybe add new content to the game, thats my understanding of it. But I am sure Gunter will clarify as and when he comes on-line

Some info about modding.
All inf works unmodified with anims as it looks now, dont know about the helmet (not tested).
Cars and similar works unmodified but if you want them to work as in If game they need work.
The same for tanks.
Weapons works as inf.

And yes the aim for now is to allow modding and fixing in original game.

You may be right, but I thought they were talking about making it run in Arma 2 so we can mod it.  So I was imagining that this meant it would show up in Arma 2 like other Mods.  But I could be wrong.  Either way, I am glad folks are working on this so we don't lose the potential this game offers.

Late reply,
Yes the aim as TRoc said is to be able to mod and update/fix IF itself, not to be a mod for Arma2.

This goes for all here please, do not spread the word that this project will be a mod for Arma2, or that IF will be a mod for arma2,
or converted to arma2 ect,. it is not, and that is not what we are doing.

Ever hear of the saying in WW2  "Loose lips sinks ships"
well that same advice is applied here, we just want to be clear of our intentions as there are agreements, and licenses
we are trying to abide by without getting into trouble with BIS, Awar, DS and or whomever.

Please understand that Iron Front is still a standalone game that is belongs to Deepsilver, or BIS and the Investors,
even though each one of us have bought the game,

your responsibility is for your copy of the game itself, as it says somewhere on the game/box, receipt wherever you agree to the copyright law,
so we are not making copies and reselling the game, we are not breaking the game in order to make a copy and sell it, we are not trying to
sell the game or do anything with money in anyway shape or form, i could really care less about money.

All i care about like many in the Iron Front Community is to be able to add content and fix, and or update the game where its needed be it missions,
textures or whatever, basically whatever you guys report, which has been next to nothing, so I dont know what you all are waiting for but what we
are doing here is becoming a reality very soon!

I would liek to see if possible from anyone who has the time could when they play report things they see, or come across, or report what they remember
for issues and or bugs they found in Iron Front and the DLC, and report it here:
Unofficial Iron Front Patch

We need to start build a list of all the issues with the game so once Troc is done with enable modding, we can work on something like a patch that
we can submit to TRoc to update and or fix those aspects of the game that were reported.

Also we need more folks that are interested in being on the team for our project here for when Troc get it where we can mod and patch the game.
The way i envision this is those folks that wish to add content and or help fix various issues in the game be it IF or the DLC you would make your fixes, and then submit to Troc, Troc would then take those updates and then create a patch to be released once enough fixes and whatever else is added, maybe a 50-100mb downloads worth like normal patch, depends.

For those that want to join the team review this thread:
Iron Front Revival Mod Project Team
and post your reply with whatever skills you have, remember if you know your WW2 history and are anal about it, (no pun intended)
we can use you, believe me Troc and I when we worked together for a mod for our 1.SS unit, our unit leader was in his mid 50's,
he was anal about historical accuracy, and down to the finest detail, but doing so and listening to him and applying the detail made
an immense difference and the immersion and realism of the game, so you history masters we can use your help if your interested,
you can be an adviser if you will.

All for now.
