It is good news, and he has alot more news about it then what was posted here, we are trying to keep
this under wraps for now, so nothing is ready for the community yet.

We will have more answers and informations about the project when we have something setup.
Right now I will be organizing a meeting to go over the whole project situation with Troc and some others, as him and I talk daily through pm
about the project, and other aspects of it.

Stay tuned, and remember what i said in my previous post.

Some news for you all patiently awaiting "something".

Currently we are is in the process of organizing a meeting which will be on Saturday between a few members of the community
which we all know, to discuss, review and get a better idea on direction and approach for the project so that we
may release and maintain the project for the community in such a way that protects the licenses, agreements, as well us
as a project team from any possible problems with anyone official behind IF, and any content released or produced for the "project".

I'm terming the "project" what it is for now til we unveil to you all what we really have very soon here.
========

Unofficial Patch
Seeing that the Wishlist has grown substantially in the past week or two we have alot of content to work on.
The update and fixing aspects of the game will become more important for the team once we get started, right now we only have so much to go on, and
so i ask of the community if you could and when you can if you run into bugs, or issues of the game, be it wrong sounds for guns, distorted textures,
weird bugs like things floating in the air, and other misc things, i ask that you guys please report them so we can build a list of things to work on when we do start.

Adding new content is one thing, but fixing and updating the game will become more important in the long run.

So when you guys report please report here all your findings:
Unofficial Iron Front Patch

I suggest also to add ' Forward Observar' module, something like what InF44 using in their mod. I found its very useful and awesome.

I'm sure it would okay to use oxygen 2 to create addons, and but we are not doing anything atm other
then organizing, and setting up a procedure for adding content, patching, ect,. with the team.
We want to review various ideas we have been going over, and then get feedback and information from certain members hence
the meeting we are having today.

Iron Front Mod Revival Project News
Hello everyone, some news for you about the Revival mod project.
Recently we had a meeting between several chosen members of the community whom are involved in the project.
this meeting went very well, took place on Tay-uk's teamspeak, and last for close to 3 hours, a bit more then planned, but it went very well otherwise.

Many questions were answered, and how to conduct, and organize the project based on ideas, feedback and information overall.
I dont want to go into great detail as right now the project is still in the process of organization, and still underwraps til we have something for you,
what we can tell you is listed below.

What is the Revival Mod Project?
The project is basically a mod of Iron Front.

What it is not:
  • It is not an external mod to Iron Front where you will put the mod into your main IF directory, add it to your target line in a shortcut, and launch it with Iron Front like an external mod adding content and features to your existing game.
  • it is not a mod for Arma2 where you can add IF to Arma2 like a mod and play IF in Arma2, we are not allowed to go there, so please understand what the mod is.
What it is, what it will have:
  • The mod will be the main game itself for which you launch and play.
  • the mod will require Iron Front to play, yes you cannot just download and play the mod and not buy or own Iron Front, or the DDay Dlc.
  • there is another requirement which we will not reveal atm.
  • the download for the mod when we are ready with it will require a key or a password as to maintain the security or integrity of the mod, and keep it with in the community here.
  • the mod team will have the only available download for the mod, as based on limitations of agreements and other restrictions, it cannot be mirrored, nor will be allowed too.
  • the download for the mod will be very large Troc is telling me roughly 7-10gb, but we will be separating the mod into parts making it easier to download.
  • the mod when available will include some added content from Troc's personal work.
  • currently modding and patching IF and the dlc are now possible.
  • Alot of work is yet to be done to iron out some small issues as well as to get some content added and working.
Updating the mod
  • Updating the mod will be done like any mod team, there will be a process modders within the team will follow but are free to work on whatever content, scripts, ect,. they wish to contribute.
  • all content/fixes/updates will go through a process of screening or "quality" control which is to be sure its accurate, it works, before it can be implemented into the mod.
  • a traditional patch will be used to update the mod.
  • a patch's frequency will be based on the number of content available to add, and or fixes, updates completed and working that can be submitted.
  • we are aiming for a 1-3 week period for releasing a single patch, we feel that waiting a month+ for a patch drains the interest and excitement for the game.
  • patch's will be incremental, some may be very small, some may be large.
  • each patch to be announced for release will have a changelog of any new content and or fixes and updates.
Mod Revival Team
Information about the team and how it will conduct mod operations
  • The team will be lead by myself and all files will be organized through TRoc.
  • the team is a number of contributing members of the IRon Front community with skills in various areas of modding, be it scripting, coding, texturing, history, models and many other things.
  • the team is still growing.
  • the team will be known as the Revival mod team.
  • each team member will have a part based on what skills they have to use, each contribution is based on their own motivation, inspiration, and time to put towards any content or updates.
  • the team will be working behind closed doors in an unseen section setup for the team to work and discuss their work.

Current work before its possible to release
  • Currently Troc as mentioned needs to do various things yet to make sure the mod is working properly as well as to add something to the mod for release.
  • Download structure still needs to be decided on how to setup for the sake of security.
  • files for download wont be setup til Troc has the mod ready.
  • Organization of the team and team's section on the forum still need a bit of setup.
  • testing needs to be conducted.
  • release of the mod is estimated to be in the next 1-2 weeks maybe sooner, it really all depends on the above factors as well as personal time and energy to put forth

=================
This is all the inforamtion I can provide for you, i hope this is enough to enlighten everyone on the status of the project, and where we are headed.
Please understand as alot of you do, that modding is a time consuming and energy demanding process, it will take some time to make sure that the,
mod is stable and ready for play.
One last thing, please do not start any false rumors, or start spreading the word of the project, nor make any posts of the project on know forums such
as BIS forums, Iron Front forums, or Deepsilver forums, if such posts are discovered you will banned from the forums here and be denied any access to the mod.

Please understand what we are trying to do for the community, which has been needed and wanted for a long time, i had hope that
you all can understand our position and do not wish to sacrifice the possibilities of what we can do with Iron front and the dlc.

Thank you for your patience, and interest.

Thats GREAT news! Thanks for the update and it sounds like a great idea because, I'd hate for IF content to get out and someone put it in I44. So I see yall are trying to avoid that.

Fantastic news and good business plan. Keeps thing under wraps.
I suggest contacting Fudge (if safe) for his almost finished R71 and M1919.
How about "Revival Iron Front Team" or "RIFT"? We Americans love our acronyms

Holy jeez, 7+ GBs? Are you guys like, remaking everything? That size is almost the size of Iron Front and the DLC, no?
