Hello everyone,
I present to you a WarMod for Iron front.

What is IFWarMod?
Is an addon/mod customizable compilation mod that adds many gameplay features, functions, and effects
to your Iron front game.

Requirements

IFWarMod was built for the IronFront Conversion (IFA2) which is also known as Iron Front (IF) in Arma2CO, I had customized
my latest COWarMod v 1.4 to work with the conversion. The IF/Arma Conversion being for Iron front and the DDay DLC, IFWarMod works with both.
IFWarMod will not work with Iron front by itself only with the conversion.
The mod requires that you have CBA files which are included in the download.

Feature's of the mod
The mod will add many features such as the following:
  • Fire, smoke, billowing smoke, smoldering smoke, volumetric smoke grenades
  • Wounding, dragging, bandaging of Ai, AI drag, self bandaging
  • Blood, bleeding, blood splashes, splatters, and dismemberment-(bodily dismemberment, head carnage)
  • Animations - movement, transitions, grenade throw animations, death, blind fire around corners/over walls
  • Move actions feature (allows you to move static guns, ammo boxes, ect,.)
  • Explosions and dust-(grenade explosion clouds, dropped bombs, mortars, mines, satchels explosion effects)
  • Impact dust throwup effects from bullet impacts, and grenade shrapnel
  • Ingame hud or UI adjustments and changes
  • Game tweaks to remove gamy elements
  • Ai enhancement -(AI may surrender if outnumbered, AI will try to give first aid to their fallen comrades, and even drag them to safety, AI when pinned may throw smoke to cover their movement, AI will flank and surround you and pin you at times with MG suppressive fire.
  • ARD -(all around defense)- A tactic used by the British, when you are a squad leader can call the Ai in your squad to form a parameter around your position based on the distance in meters you want, once in the formation you can have them heal, and do other things.
  • Additional folder inside the addons folder labeled "storage" has a mod in it if you want to use it, it will enable you to suppress the AI, and the AI can suppress you, see this for more details: TPWCAS AI Suppression
  • Sun & Lens flare based on Sakura's mod
  • Long Mission Selection List In Editor for Loading Missions- no more scrolling unless you have a lot of made missions
  • Automatic zoom to Iron sites for all infantry weapons
  • Menu Icon
If you applied patch v1.1 below are added features
  • Disabled weapon sway - Disables the weapon sway completely exhaustion from movement is from a different source.
  • Disabled Infantry weapon dispersion - Reduced the dispersion for infantry weapons to basically zero.
  • Take command of AI infantry squad - when in a squad (not leading) press space+ down to become squad leader
  • Option to spawn ladders and gain access to any otherwise inaccessible rooftops or buildings, a fun feature rather then realistic
  • IFWarMod Loading screen - loading screen will show once you start Iron front with IFWarMod
If you applied patch v1.2 below are added features
  • added AI enhancement with 11 AI features
  • added AI skills and awareness improvements with 12 AI features
  • added Suppression effects - (Effects AI and Player) with 16 AI features
  • added HUD element indicating the player's current stance 
  • added HUD that provides situational awareness of your fire team members 
  • added slx_anim_swim: an updated file for SLX that removes the hpp requirement, the feature allows the player to swim longer with less fatigue & faster
  • added SLX_AI_NoAutoEngage: Make AI not suicide engage/attack on their own.
  • added slx_anim_injured:  Makes injured animations not have weird warping
  • added SLX_ModWeapons_Sounds_Impact:  Bullet impact sounds
  • added AI should stay in formations when overwhelmed
  • added All features readme that will list all files in the mod and their descriptions
  • added new installation readme
  • added changelog readme (your reading it)

There are some things I did not add for the sake that they are not realistic in terms of the theater of war, other
things i did not add because they would not work as the configs are based on modern day weapons.

Bugs?
After extensive testing, and some testing done by Orlok, and PoorOldSpike I have pretty much found 99% of the issues that occur.
There still may be some bugs here and there, if you find any, please report them so i can fix them.
There is one bug known, and that is with WarFX, what happens is all tanks dont have any smoke from shooting the main cannon,
if u remove the warfx then you get it back, only bug I know of so far.

Installation:
  1. move the@IFWarMod into your main Arma2 directory, same place the Arma2oa.exe is located
  2. move the userconfig into your main Arma2 directory
  3. move the @CBA, @CBA_A2, @CBA_OA folders into your main Arma2 directory

Shortcut target line:
setup your shortcut target line like the following:

 -nosplash -mod=@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@IF;@IFWarMod

Use -nosplash or you will miss the IFR loading screen and you will get the company logos and such for Iron front instead.

@IF (is the Iron Front Conversion) you should already have this in your Arma2 directory)

Hi Gunter!

Thanks for your mod!

I noticed that your Warmod guide and readme is titled @IFWarMod directory,
but in the decompressed packet this directory its @IFRWarMod, notice R!!

I just noticed this, and this can be confusing to many people.

Thanks AJM for pointing that out, this version of IFWarMod initially started out as IFRWarMod, but its just an extra letter.
What i can do is reupload the mod with the correct lableing, so no one gets confused.

Has anyone played with it yet? beside my 200 hours with it testing [biggrin]
i personally love playing Iron front with this mod, if you guys noticed when you bring up the iron sites with any of the weapons,
the sites automatically zoom, thats a feature I had in my CoWarMod, always loved that. The other thing I like alot is the explosion
effects of grenades, all that shrapnel really does alot of damage to those in the area.


If anyone has some screenshots you'd like me to add to the screenshot page on my dropbox please pm me or post them here,
even a video would be cool too, suppose i could record some myself now that my computer can record while being maxed [wink]

I had fixed the names on the folders, and updated the paa pic seen on the menu.
Consider this v 1.0 of IFWarMod as I may update it in the near future.

Hi!

Just tested quickly, noticed one problem, explosions are some way messed,
and smoke or something is missing, they wont look normal.

Normal big blast have a lot of spreading smoke / dust.

You'll want a host for your pics, dont use the forum here for pics, suggest dropbox its free and you start with 2gb of space.
Or use image shack or another host.
But mod is working fine on my end.

Thanks for the warmod. Looks very interesting. Are there any plans to include a sound mod for IFL:44 in the next warmod? IF not, could you recommend a compatible with IFL:44 in A2 sound mod please?

You mean the next version? No there is not, WarMod is about gameplay enhancements, effects, functions, sound files to be
included are to big for such a download, I have no idea on how to implement sound.

For Iron front I cant recommend anything for sounds as there is nothing for WW2 weapons, only thing i can tell you is one of my guys in IFR
has been working on sounds and is planning to release to us for testing what he has real soon, so maybe wait for that.
But other wise no sound mods would work from Arma2/CO for Iron front conversion, all the sounds mods out for both Arma2 and CO are all for modern weapons.

@Santa Six I already knew about the change in CBA but unless you use the beta which i dont then Im not going use it.
As for no smoke or dust effects i believe that was WarFX causing an issue there, remove those files and see if you get them back, as i remember having a conversions with PoorOldSpike about this about a month or so ago and he was reporting the same thing, but i went through all the files in the mod and I believe I narrowed it down to WarFx, the actual names of the files are:
warfxpe
warfxveh
WarFXWeps

Im thinking it was the veh one as veh = vehicles.

I have deleted all warfx files from warmod, and now explosions and dust are normal again.

Gunter I seem to have an issue while playing a blitzkrieg mission with ifwarmod.  When attacking the first position everything works fine but from then on it starts to mess up.  It stops showing the amount of soldiers in a given position that is being attacked/defended.  It may show 1 or 2 but when they die and others go into the capture area they don't register, this is AI and human.  If I run without ifwarmod I don't get the issue, do you have any suggestions on what may be interfering with the count?

Thank you and thank you once again for this great addon, the AI are badass.
