Hi Gunter,

I've just installed your mod. However I do have some questions. I'm playing IF implemented into Arma2 and with SIX-play. So I'm launching the game via SIX-play. In your Readme for IFWarMod you mention the setup of the shortcut target line (-nosplash -mod=@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@IF;@IFWarMod), but I use SIX-play, no shortcut. Can you tell me whether IFWarMod will still load and how can I tell?

Sure, there will be an icon at the bottom left that says IFR see the my screenshot of the menu--> http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=294857117
There should also be a list of the mods on your menu on the right side, idk how Six play does it but thats another way to know what you loaded.
The other way is to adjust the launch parameter for six play, I know PW6 has launch options, where you can set what mods are to be launched if you do that
and get the pic on the menu, and the mods listed then you have it running.
Any other questions let me know.

Doesn't seem to work, Gunter. My game doesn't show the screen you've posted and there's no IF WarMod icon either. I've fiddled around with the launch parameter for six play, but to no avail. It just doesn't work, I'm afraid. Please advise.

Hmm I never put IFWarMod on Pw6, its only available through the MR, so someone uploaded it there.
I dont know what to tell you for the six, but I know manually it works, so as a suggestion try installing it manually, and see if it works for you,
it should, just read the readme.

Lastly make sure you have your Iron front converted to play as a mod in Arma2CO, not a requirement but whats the point if
you didn't as thats what the mod was built for.

Keep me posted, i'll be back in the evening my time, atm its 12:55pm.

Note:
In the latest stable the conversion and patching is defunkt in PWS.
In the beta branch the patching only works for 1.62.

So use the manual process for now and the batches to launch it.

It is working now (the icon is visible), thank you. Can you please tell me how to use this mod? How can I change the formation of a platoon for instance? It doesn't seem to show up under TAB.

I'm sorry to say that although the WarMod Icon is visible, F1 doesn't show the features of it. Please advise. Sorry to trouble you again.

You dont see the ard dialog seen on this post's screenshot? --> http://ironfront.forumchitchat.com/post/show_single_post?pid=1280434595&postcount=2

again how are you launching the mod with the game?
Whats your shortcut target line?
You are using the Arma2CO conversion of Iron front correct?
When you use ard in the game you are in command of a squad correct?

Gunter, first of all I'm not very good at this sort of thing, but I will try to explain. Since I do not use a shortcut, but use PlaywithSix instead (Combined Operations as game and IF Lite as mod) I don't know how to use a shortcut. I've installed WarMod according to the instructions, apart from the shortcut part. I'm not sure whether this is the correct way to use the Iron front conversion.

Perhaps it is important to mention that I have Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation Flashpoint as seperate folders, but via PlaywithSix I can use them both with the Combined Operations game. I'm determined to get this right, since I think Arma/IF is a superb game and your mod makes it even better. I hope you can suffer my ignorance and help me out. Perhaps I should reinstall all.

Go into your Arma2 directory, then go into @IFWarMod folder, there should be a folder titled addons, open that, now do you see a file titled ard.pbo?

Want to try a shortcut launcher for the mod just to make sure the mod is working like its supposed to?

Option 1
Heres what i have, i use a launcher for specifically Arma3, but it works for Arma2CO np this:
http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=19582
How this works is you basically create a profile (watch the vid in full screen) give it a name at the top, then put anything for description, then parameters put -nosplash
now at the bottom left should be all the mods the ones that have @ in front of them, adn on the right will be empty.
Move @CBA  @CBA_A2 , @CBA_OA, @IF, @IFWarMod over to the right, jsut click on them on the left, they will highlight, then hit the button at the bottom that says activate, once you have done all that then click on the launch button bottom right, and the game will start.

Once ingame go to the editor, then go to groups, pick a squad, and insert them, make the squad leader you (player).
Save, and preview, once ingame press F1 and on the right you will see a menu like in the screenshot--> http://ironfront.forumchitchat.com/post/show_single_post?pid=1280434595&postcount=2
Click on the 20m or the other ones and your Ai squad will form a circle around you.
==============
Like in the readme for the installation for IFWarMod:

Quote:
Installation:
=============
move the @IFWarMod- into your Arma2 directory
move the userconfig into your Arma2 directory
move the @CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA into your Arma2 directory

Make sure you have whats bolded in your Arma2 directory
your directory should be here if your using steam:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead

Option 2
Locate your Arma2 directory, and look for the folder userconfig
go inside it and you should see another folder titled ARD
open that folder, in it you should see ARD.hpp double click it, it will open with notepad, and then scroll to the bottom where it says this:

Quote:
    ///////////////////////////////
    //                 //
    // ALL ROUND DEFENCE OPTIONS //
    //                 //
    ///////////////////////////////

        // This changes the key used to open the All Round Defence Menu

            ARD_open_menu = 16;  // << EDIT THIS NUMBER

        // This changes the key to order All Round Defence quickly (without opening the menu)

            ARD_quick = 21;  // << EDIT THIS NUMBER

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

in the code above you should see this ARD_quick = 21; // <<EDIT THIS NUMBER
lets change this number Im thinking thats why Ard is not working for you because the number isn't assigned, so below the //////////line you should see this:

Your keyboard keys are on the left and to the right is a number, so choose the key you want to open the menu with
(you see in the screenshot) and then change the 21 you see here

ARD_quick = 21;  // << EDIT THIS NUMBER

to whatever number you chose which would be associated with the key on your keyboard.

Once you do that, save it, close it all, and start the game, then go to the editor, pick a map, then go to groups (F2) and then place a squad,
make the squad leader you (player), save and preview, now once ingame hit the keyboard button you chose in thre ard.hpp that you just changed the 21 too.

Let me know what you did.

Hi Gunter, to my delight option 2 worked for me, using nr. 24 and 25 , thank you very much for your thorough explanation and your time. Can you also please explain how the artillery start and artillery stop buttons work? How can I use them?

Great! For the artillery I quote from the ard download page on Armaholic:
Quote:
ARD also includes the excellent ECHO artillery scripts. If there are artillery pieces available, order your men into them and then press 'Artillery Start'. They will leave the player group and wait for target information to be passed to them. Any units left in your group become spotters and will automatically relay target information to the artillery squad. Fire orders will be issued automatically against any viable targets. Your AI men spot up to 600 meters. The player spotting distance is user definable in the user-config (Default is 1500 meters). Other options in the user-config can be changed such as the time between fire missions, and dispersion of rounds.

When you want to stop the artillery firing autonomously, press the "Artillery Stop" button in the ARD menu. They will then finish any fire missions they are on, then re-join your group. This has been coded so that it is compatible with R3F Artillery (if installed). You cannot use both at once, but there should be no clashes between them. R3F may put a warning about Arty modules on the screen. You can safely ignore it. A maximum of three units can be used for the Artillery Support.

See if that works for you, as I have never used it.
