Iron Front as a mod in Arma2OA (IFA2)

Setup and Installation procedure
1. Download -----> Iron Front Conversion Tool
It will convert your vanilla Iron front to a mod for Arma2CO, it will check your system to see if
you have a legitimate copy of arma2CO (arma2 +OA) and a copy of Iron front.

2. The tool will make a copy of your iron front and format it so that the files will have the pbo extension
on them enabling them to be read by the arma2CO engine.

3. Once you start the Conversion process it will take about 5-10min, just let the program run.

4. Once the conversion process is complete the window that you see during the conversion process
will automatically close and you should see a new folder (mod) in your Arma2 directory titled @IF
this will be the Iron front Mod. If you have the DLC it will be converted as well.
 Requirements
To convert your vanilla Iron Front to a mod for Arma2CO
  • Iron Front vanilla patched to v1.05
  • Arma 2: Combined Operations installed and in the latest version
  • Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead patched to 1.63
  • Arma 2 patched to 1.11
Patch the Mod
Once the conversion is complete and you have confirmed it working (play it) as a mod in arma2CO
then patch the mod, get the patches below:

Patches for the Arma2CO IFA2 Mod
 Start the game Launch info
  1. Mod will require CBA like any mod in Arma2CO get it here (if you have CBA already then you dont need to get it again)
  2. Start the arma2oa/Arma2CO game like you would normally with a mod: @CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@IF
  3. If you have the DLC then add the DLC mod in the parameter too like this:
    @CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@IF;DDay
  4. Launcher can really help make the setup and startup alot easier, just setup your profile, choose the mods needed and start!

Hello guys,

I have problems to install the Iron Front & DLC to Arma 2 OA.
Ive bought both games on Steam, and read that you can play this great game as a mod in arma 2 as well.

So, ive download the IFArma_conversion tool and created the 2 files (@IF, and @LIB_DLC_1)put them into the main Arma2 OA Location, en checked them ingame.

But when i want to make a mission in de MissionEditor i dont see any units or static weapon at all. Yes ive also downloaded all the 3 Lite version files with Play_withSIX, and that works fine in Arma 2 OA..

My question, did i forget something , also the most patches like IronFront_Arma2CO_CommunityPatch_1.05-1.12.exe etc. didnt work, and give messages like this: http://postimg.org/image/wieglg653/

Can someone help me out? thanks..AV

Hello A Vince!
Welcome to the IF Fan Forums!

Sorry to read about your trouble, lets see what we can determine what your problem is:

Did you review the manual installation wiki or just downloaded the tool and ran that?

Germans are under Blufor - under Wehrmacht are units and static weapons
Russians are under Opfor - under red army is units and static weapons

So when you go to the editor, then double click and then choose Blufor side right below that you should see Luftwaffe correct?

Heej Gunter,

First of all, thanks for all your WW2 work in Arma land..

Ive got Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA on steam, with all the DLC and upgrades.
And ive got Iron front & DLC upgraded on steam.

When i look at the  manual installation wiki you give me, i must upgrade the IF mod for OA with the communitiy paches, but when i begin to upgrade i cant do it, it give me this:  [2e37er7]

So, i cant upgrade the @If files with the community patches. Also if i see the @IF_lite version and look inside i see more pbo files than in the @IF full version, for example the animations.pbo.
Ingame ive checked the 2 @IF and @LIB_DLC_1.
[16h13ed]

ingame i dont see any units at all:

In the lite version everything is ok, like you says Germans in Blue and Russians in Red..
With the Lite version i also can use the Finland1944 mod, but blurried. With the full version i can't, i think it has to do with some missing pbo files in @IF..
Still it's nice to play IF in full version in the mother game,Iron Front Liberation 1944, but it can be also nice to combine it with the Invasion 1944 mod as well , fully in Arma 2 OA, and not with the lite version.

Thank you. Few things, and questions
1. Suggest running Iron front by itself and not with all the other mods, this way you can see what you have and dont have in terms of Iron Front.
2. The Lite version is basically the full version of the game except it has low res textures, thats why it works, the high resolution textures come direct from your game.
3. Put the patch in the Arma2oa directory itself and start it from there, see if that works

Couple of questions:
1. Is your version of arma2oa v1.63 as that is required it should be just need to make sure.
2. Have you played Iron front vanilla yet without doing the conversion to see if the vanilla game runs and is v1.05 as you need to make sure
you meet all requirements for you or patches wont patch

3. For the patch your trying to run the v1.05 to the v1.12 patch correct?
and your trying to apply the

not the IronFront_Arma3_CommunityPatch_1.05-1.12.exe (596 MB) (MD5: e1a29bc1a9cc505efbaa3dba8b52d5c2)
which us for the IFA3 (Arma3 Iron Front version) correct?

Hello guys!

I have another little Problem with IF in A2.

It is connected to the frag grandes. I can pick them in my inventory...but I can not pick then to throw by tipping F on my keyboard.

Did anyone hear of that issue maybe?

Hi,
So your saying you can grab grenades from ammo boxes, and the ground and see them in your inventory, but when you want to choose them you cannot throw them?
i tested IFA2 myself and there is no such issue with getting grenades from an ammo box, or from the ground and throwing them,
seems to me your issue is with how you are setting up your controls.

You are just using IFA2 by itself correct and no mods?

Heya,

I've been re-running the A2 CO Conversion tool for a fresh install but I found that the v1.05 - v1.12 Community Patch link is broken?
This is also so for the Patch link at the BI Forum thread?
