Welcome everyone to the unofficial Forums glad to see some of the members from the IF forums, and some new members.
I have a link on the MR too, so you have a direct access to the forums here.
Thanks to Tay-UK for a great idea to have an unofficial forums.

I hope that we can better support the IF community, and keep it flourishing.

Welcome to the Unofficial forums Nokturnal, Rebel410, Snafu, Skunk and Sperber feel free to call it home

We all probably now know that the offical forums won't be coming back and that future official support has been dropped, so this place is more important than ever now.
Things may be a little slow at the start especially as this has coincided with the release of ARMA 3 Alpha ( I must admit I am dabbling too), but we have new people joining everyday.
We already have some very experienced members in all that the game and the editor has to offer, so keep questions rolling in and we will all do our best to answer them.

Thanks for your support

my thoughts are the following:

1.  Am a little upset that all the information on mission editing that was on the old site and i used as a reference just disappeared. Would be nice if it could be transfered over.

2. We still own the game, but need to be able to mod to make new maps and new content.  Any word on that?  If all of them are done with the game, you would think they could open it up to the fans whe have not abandoned it.

3. Am learning that there are a lot of other great World War 2 Mods - Invasion 44 where i am about to release 12 videos and 10 scenarios i was working past three months.  Only used it because the IF44 Western Front DLC just did not have sufficient content to let me create the series i wanted to create accurately.  And there is also a Pacific theater Mod as well that i want to do some work on.  My next project is to take what i learned creating these 10 scenarios and videos and use this experience to create  a 10 scenario/video series of a historical battle in Poland using IF44.

4.  I will support this forum and can help contribute to its cost if Tay-UK would let me know where/how to contribute.  Thanks for setting it up.

5. I hope they move on and get back to the Eastern Front - Hitler Moves East - 1941.  While i enjoyed the Poland campaigns, i was a bit surprise that they chose that area of operation for their first release when so much of the real exciting historical parts were in Russia and the Ukraine in my opinion.  It was where the contest was still in question and could have gone either way. Poland, the situation was just a matter of time before the Germans were defeated.

6.  i think the biggest mistake the team that came together to do IF44 was poor communication.  I remember it was almost non existent when someone told me about the game and its forum 5 months before the game came out.  It was poor during release and has been poor since.  In my opinion they made a huge mistake with the small Western Front DLC when they could have built on more Eastern Front content.

7.  If they do another Historically accurate Eastern Front game i will follow them to their new work.  But hope they will start with better communications and let folks know what is going on.  To shut the forum off without warning or notice, agains is poor communications.

Welcome back to the community Shpagin, or rather to the new forums, you got in here pretty fast after my reply in I44 forums, lol
But happy to see you here, you have some good questions.

i agree, but its not possible, ocne you delete a forum its gone with everything in it, so what we have here so far can help you with some things you may need, but if your lookign for something in particular then just ask, and we might be able to link you to something or show you how.

Just remember theres quite a few of us that have been in the BIS series since the start or who also play Arma2CO, so any knowledge acquired
through that game can work in IF as IF uses the same engine.

only thing we have here on the forums is the info on this thread:

Much appreciated
, but Tay-Uk is the head admin here, its his forum that he had established in replace of the Official Iron front forum, so you will need to ask him.

Yes they did have poor communication, but in some respects I would have to say based on the info i been getting its not all their fault,
lets use that thread I linked you for this discussion.

Again as i said on I44 thread forum, that it wasn't Awar that shut the forums down but the investors and associates, Awar from what i understand if i
recall didn't even know they were shutdown.
As said above lets use the appropriate thread for this discussian, read through that thread and then ask any questions you may have.
==========

As you guys can see the members are growing, I hope that with our discussions here and information, and knowledge that the Iron Front will flourish once again,
of course til Awar says something somewhere about what their doing, then its down to us here to support those who need it and share our interest together.

Thanks for starting the forum, tay.

It's great to see this game still has a community! It's a bit rough around the edges, but I always thought the biggest problem was not the bugs, but the so-so included scenarios...

I do hope the official forums come back, though.

Cheers.

Welcome The_Captain!
The official IF forums you wont see they have been deleted, if they were to have come back they would have been back
the day or two after they were down, it dont take much to put a forum up and add categories, i wouldn't expect it, plus the investors of IF that were supporting
Awar (the developers) pulled the plug on IF so IF is down.
Until Awar somehow allows us to mod the game, or come up with something else, and currently theres rumors of a new project by them.
But IF is no more officially supported by them other then the website that is still up, collecting people's money.

When and if we hear of something all we can do is support and work with what we have.

As for the scenarios that come with the game we can fix those ourselves, theres plenty of people that know how to edit, but if you have some particular scenarios
that came with the game that need fixing then make a post in the proper category and lets see what we can do.

Thanks for the info.

I have some scenarios I was working on on and off last summer, but with IF's support being pulled I should probably release them! I'll put these up asap.

I also have a dedicated server in the US I was using for mission testing... I'd be happy to host any missions from the repo!
