I just want to confirm that the Russian M4A2 Sherman does share the Russian T 34 engine sounds. So it correctly simulates the diesel engine. Sadly that's were the similarities end.
Leaving the American M4A3 w/ & w/o wading gear the only ones with the V8 gasoline engine.

Poor Old Spikes speed tests for the M4A2 are the same for the M4A3 regardless of the engine difference. IRL there's a 2kph difference.
His mad scientist testing sheet can be found here.

I'm not a tank man, so I thought the Russian Sherman tanks were just American ones with a different colour .

From what I understand;
Russian Sherman uses same engine as T34 - Sounds are the same so that is good
Russian Sherman should be 2 kph faster than the American one - Fix would be to increase top speed of Russian Sherman
American Sherman uses V8 engine - All is good there

Therefore the only fix to be more accurate would be to up the top speed of a Russian Sherman by roughly 2 Kmph?

Wikipedia tell in USSR Shermans M4A2 even not been repeinted, our soldiers only painted numbers of unit. Few of Shermans been rearmed by F-34 tankguns http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-34_tank_gun
M4A2 had two engines 375hp (both or total? im not sure), T34 had one 500hp engine.

Yep, the Lend lease Sherman had the same engine as it was built with, no sense in putting a T34 engine in it!

So what is the problem in game? If it is using the wrong sounds (but the right files are there) it should be patchable. If the top speed is incorrect that could also be changed, though it may be set the same for balance. Or are all the Shermans and T34s using the same engine sounds? In which case not much can be done with out a sound engineer :(

For a start, we need a model M4A3 and M4A2.   Power dual engine M4A2 = 210 h.p. each.

In the sphere of sounds in the game Sherman has a lot of problems. It is a fact.
Moreover, if I am not mistaken, the difference between the engines M4A2 and M4A3 is not only top speed, but in the acceleration.

Also there are some differences, but in the game, their show is not possible. To the possibilities of a tank simulator very far.

The only problem in game is what Heavy ax mentioned. The odd V8 sounds.
I'm sure they were on a budget when making the DLC. So it makes sense for them to use the T 34 sounds. Better that then the wrong gasoline files.
Also 2kph is slower then walking speeds and all tanks have trash acceleration. So that stuff isn't that important.

On a side note. I44 uses more sound files per unit then in IF44. Even then they still have sound issues.

P.S. I ran into that same video during my short research

Okay, so sounds like there isn't much we can do without a sound guy to make some new sounds?
