I'm getting lots of application error messages such as
..."instruction at 0x00000000005E5F2F referenced memory at 0x0000000000233. The memory could not be found" whilst missions are loading.

I'm using ArmA2: Operation Arrowhead with the following mods
  • @CBA
  • @CBA_A2
  • @CBA_OA
  • @IF (recently added)
  • @IFWarMod (recently added)
  • @Lib_DLC_1 (recently added)
The mission won't fully load and I need to Ctrl+Alt+Del for Task Manager to exit.

Any ideas and help would be appreciated - as always.

Many thanks, B9

Post your computer specs (CPU,Ram, & Graphics card)
Also remove @IFWarMod  and see if you get the same issue, if you dont then I will tell you which files to remove.

Hello Gunter - many thanks for the reply.

My PC was built 12 years ago - here's my spec

Gigabyte M57SLI-S4 mobo
3.10 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core processor
NVidia GeForce GTX 750Ti card
6 Gb DDr2 RAM

I removed the @IFWarMod file - for some reason all IF missions play but not the ArmA2 OA missions e.g Takistan maps etc. If that helps. Plus playing with or without BattleEye doesn't affect it.

Being dim here, but should I have separated 2 vanilla Arma2s and loaded 1 with IF and the other with ArmA2 missions....?

Many thanks, B9

Welcome, your specs are about what I have except i have 8gb ram, and rest is in Intel stuff, i have same graphics card too [wink]
What mission/s were you getting your error with? And do they load now or play fine now.

As for your question, run arma2 and OA together, IF missions run under IF not arma2 or OA, you just need
arma2OA to run IF for IFA2, so keep that in mind.
As for the missions in general if your trying to run a mission that requires arma2 content then it will tell you by
saying this or that requires something, ... whatever.

Hello Gunter,

In the past few years I've downloaded missions from Armaholic with no problems. But now I find that on some of the missions I get the "instruction at 0x00000000005E5F2F referenced memory at 0x0000000000233. The memory could not be found" error message.

The missions I've run successfully in the past are:

En Route - "0x00000000005E5F2F referenced memory at 0x0000000000233 error message and locks up A2OA
Warm Welcome - "0x000000000045A8D0 referenced memory at 0x0000000000170. The memory could not be found" error message and locks up A2OA
Whole Lotta War - as Warm Welcome error message.

IF missions, apart from the large Omaha one don't crash the game.

This is my set up file-wise for A2OA:

Steam>Steamapps>Common>Arma2OA>@CBA, @CBA_A2, @CBA_OA, @I44, @I44_Sounds, @IF and @LIB_DLC1

Don't know if that helps. BTW, BattleEye on or off doesn't change performance - get the same crashes.

Should I reinstall with vanilla OA and delete and reinstall missions do you think?

Best wishes, B9

I have almost the same specs as you, and i dont get any issues, except i have 8gb of ram, suggest run arma2oa
without mods and try same missions, then add mods 1 by one.
would also suggest defragging your hard drive, doing system scans for registry errors, ect,. i do this regularly and i rarely if ever get issues,
maybe time for an upgrade for you.

I use System Mechanic for general errors and cleaning,
then use perfect disk to defrag, and CCCleaner for super cleaning, make sure your computer performs, check this stuff weekly.
Dust your case out once a month, dust acts like an insulator on your parts, overheating cpu will cause crashes, overheating gpu will freeze your game,
but i think most of your issue is Ram related.
