After installing IFA3 LITE and getting it up and running I've begun to DL various missions. I only play single player and there's no SP content included so I've been installing these and available Coop missions.
 A number of older mission with the .IFA extension play ok after changing to .PBO. However a few of the missions require a mod by Lester;  MAP_EU to play. (IFA3 Big City Ivachev, IFA3 Stalingrad Spring Baranow etc.)

 I DL'd MAP_EU_V1.00 and have installed it in the Steam/SteamApps/common/ARMA 3 folder along with the other mods but something is not right as the missions will not play. I checked out the mission installation guide on Armaholic but it makes a lot of referance to the Arma 2 install. I've looked around the various sites for threads regarding other install methods but haven't found anything yet. I found one referance that said add ".pbo" extension to it. Tried that but no luck. Still get message saying "Cannot play mission depends on deleted content MAP_EU"

  I'm pretty much a noob here but trying to get up to speed as time permits. Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

Hi hemisent,
The file MAP_EU is not installed thats why you get the error ---> "Cannot play mission depends on deleted content MAP_EU"
You need to create a mod folder for it to work, for example do the following:
  1. create a new folder and name it --->   @MAP_EU
  2. then inside the @MAP_EU folder create another folder and name it ---> addons
  3. put the MAP_EU.pbo inside the addons folder
  4. Make sure that the new mod @MAP_EU is your main Arma3 directory here---> C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3
  5. start your game with this mod loaded along with IFA3 Lite, so your startup should be this:  @CBA_A3;@IFA3Lite;@MAP_EU

You might not need the @CBA_A3 because IFA3 Lite dont need it and the MAP_Eu is arma2 so just run the new mod with IFA3Lite itself.
Lastly all mods are the same in terms of their respective setup and structure so you have a folder with @modname, and inside an addons folder, all files
(pbos's & bisign.pbo's go inside the addons folder).

IFA3 Lite wont come with content, you can use my MissionRepository for more content which im sure you found.
======

Overall hoped that helped, let us know how things turn out.

Thanks for replying Gunter.
 I did as you recommended and now the @MAP_EU  folder structure looks like what you described and is similar to the others however I still get the "Cannot play or edit mission depends on deleted content MAP_EU"

 I did notice something odd tho.

 In my folder list I have no @IFA3LITE folder.
I DL'd IFA3LITE thru Steam and it worked immediately so I never had reason to check the contents inside my ARMA3 folder.
What I do have are the original folders from when you helped me set up IFA3 "prior" to the LITE version.
@CBA_3
@GEIST_A3
@IF
@IFA3
@IFA3m
@IFA3 SA
@LIB_DLC_1
This was done thru ARMA3 sync which Is no longer in use. Can I delete everything but the GEIST and CBA_3 folders?

 When I start the game the normal load screen runs and ARMA3 LITE shows up among the list of icons in the lower left corner. I never had any reason to think something was off.

 Having never used Steam before I'm completely unfamiliar with it's workings.

I see, me personally I do everything manually, I dont like things that are automatic for this game, so im used to creating and messing around with mods,
as for IFA3 Lite I got mine through Mega, but for steam tbh i have no idea where steam would install IFA3 lite, i can only assume the arma3 directory as
that the directory that the game reads from so it must be in a folder somewhere thats not labeled as a mod, cant really help you there, maybe Kju or someone else can better tell you.

You can still use armasync to setup mod folders, launch parameters and start your game, i use it all the time, only way i get ingame, as far as full IFA3 its up to you if you want to remove it, i do reccomend IFA3 lite over the full version as the full version is no longer supported, all updates and work are on the Lite version, but ya keep GEIST and the CBA_A3.
The @CBA_A3 isn't needed with IFA3 Lite unless you plan to use mods along with it, like My IFA3WarMod or Geist for example.

Overall the Map_EU file, it needs to run too when you start the game with IFA3 lite, so basically just make sure that the mod @MAP_Eu shows up in the list
too with IFA3 lite when you start, and see if it works.

Thanks Gunter
 SUCCESS! Sort of.
 I re-dl'd IFA3LITE (Mega) and manually inserted in main ARMA folder, Re-set everything in ARMA3 sync omitting all the original no longer needed folders. Started the gama without Steam . Prior to the load screen a pop up appeared
Addon MAP_EU requires addon 'CARoads2' I closed it and the load screen ran as normal. The main game screen showed up with another window NO ENTRY 'bin\config/cfgVehicles/Land_Dam_Conc_20.scope.' I closed that and
picked a mission requiring MAP_EU and it fired up (with a window showing missing files of one type or another..... time for that later)

 I guess it's getting closer but. The way I read this is that the MAP_EU mod is missing something. A corrupt download perhaps? Any thoughts on this? At least things are moving in the right direction.

Thats a start indeed, the error CARoads2
that is coming from the CfgPatches.hpp from Map_EU this is what it looks like along with your CARoads2

Code:

class CfgPatches {
  class MAP_EU {
    units[] = {};
    weapons[] = {};
    requiredAddons[] = {"CAData", "CAMisc", "CAMisc2", "CAMisc3", "CABuildings", "CABuildings2", "CAStructures", "CASigns2", "CARoads2", "CARocks2", CAA10, "CAAir", "CAAir2", "CAAir3", "CAWheeled", "CAWheeled2", "CAWater2", "CATracked", "CACharacters2"};
    requiredVersion = 1.02;
  };
};

But the CARoads2 is actually from a pbo from arma2CO, the name of the file is Roads2.pbo you can find the file here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\Common

what you could try is if you have arma2CO take that file make a copy and put the copied pbo in the addons folder of your
@map_eu see if that changes the situation.
