Hi there,
whilst placing various groups using the editor,i found that they "sink"into the floor/ground,is there a way to stop this?It has happened with the following,

1,Placing an MG42 into the ground floor of a ruined house:The gun and its tripod are fine,the
   Gunner though sinks into the floor upto his waist.

2,Placing an anti tank gun into a "Trench".There is a special defensive trench in which the gun is "dug in".The trench is fine...the gun though"sinks" into the ground.

Any ideas...

try this:
to set an anti-tank gun in the anti-tank trench it needs in the initialization of the unit:
this setPosATL [getPosATL this select 0, getPosATL this select 1, 0.75];

0.75 is the altitude.

You may experiment with different values for the MG's.
If I remember correct, 0.23 was the value for soldiers in trenches.

-------------
An other way:
Get a trigger, set it to a radio activation, ever. (i.e. ALPHA)
Inside "on activation" field, insert:
copyToClipboard format ["this setPosATL %1;this setDir %2",getPosATL player, getDir player];

Now go to the map locations you want to place your units, facing the direction you want your unit to look to, and activate the radio with ALPHA.
This will copy the values and needed code for that locaiton to clipboard.
Paste into the units init field, and it will spawn exactly in that spot, facing where you were when the trigger was activated.

There are 3 MG42 gunner options in the editor if you are using the one called MG42 trench on a normal floor level, it puts the mans body into the ground, the other 2 are for level ground use. Not sure if thats why your having the issue, but it could be.

Thanks ever so much for your help,
reference to the Mg 42,actually i wasn't a "trench"model,rather the sustained fire version on a tripod.
What i will do will be to try the other version to see if it changes anything.It is as if instead of "crouching"behind
the weapon he is "standing"and the game to put him in the tight place "sinks" him into the floor.That's the best
wsy i can think of describing it.

Reference to the Anti-tank Gun;
Sounds very promising,unfortunately i have had to go to work today and can't get back to my Pc until
Monday night.I will though try this and let you know here how it went.

If anyone has any more ideas please post!! and thanks again to everyone.
