Hi guys,
I think we will never have really a standalone Stalingrad island in ARMA so I made for you something. I share my editor made Stalingrad city build in Grozny island. I give you all addons and mods with download links to work correctly. I know it's really many to download it, there are tons of needed addons. But this is the only way to feel the Stalingrad atmosphere in Arma yet. Hope I help you with this. Try it, I think you will enjoy it.
First you need patch the Arma 2 OA, to 1.62 or higher
INSTALLING
STEP1:
Download the following addons and mods and unrar, copy the "@" folders to your C:/user/name/documents/Arma 2
(Yes, it needs the full mods too like the VTE, I44, Pacific or 31st mod)
STEP2:
Copy this command line (modfolders) to the arma2oa.exe shortcut properties and save it:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\ArmA 2\arma2oa.exe" -mod=@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@31stWWA2;@Pacific_beta;@vte;@I44;@Schwemlitz;@IF_lite;@IF_Other_Addons_lite;@LIB_DLC_1_lite;@deadcity;@Thirsk;@s_houses;@Soap;@odenLIB;@odenLIB1;@mbg_Buildings_3;@RUG_DSAI
STEP3:
Download and unrar the mission Stalingrad%20FULL.grozny and copy the folder to your C:/user/name/documents/Arma 2/missions
STEP4:
Start the game. Open the editor in the game. Open the island Grozny, and now you can load a mission named Stalingrad FULL.
If You made everything fine you should see in the editor something like this:
This is the Stalingrad city I made, now you can make your own missions
Don't forget to rename the missions what you'll make to use the Stalingrad FULL for more times.
You can build a city bigger or delete areas what you don't need in your current mission. Everything is on you. Good work and play.

PS. For winter theme I'm using the island Schwemlitz winter. For bonus here is a winter Red october factory scene:
So again, copy the unrared Stalingrad-Red%20october%20winter.WL_WRoute191 to the C:/user/name/documents/Arma 2/missions and you'll find it in the game editor in Schemlitz winter island, named Stalingrad-Red october winter.

Nice! Good detail and instructions. few things @IFWarMod DOWNLOAD Gunter's IFWarMod release thread http://ironfront.forumchitchat.com/post/ifwarmod-release-6390060?&trail=15 is not required, its a gamplay mod, so its not needed for the mission, also why have it uploaded somewhere else especially on sendspace with all its ads, and multiple links when you can download it from the MR, 1 link download, no ads. Plus did you apply all the patches? Also your version of IFWarMod is the old version, unless you removed some files for customization on your part, and if you did rereleasing that version, you didn't ask me permission to do so, it might be a compilation mod but i did get permissions from all the modders of the files that are in the mod, plus spent since October of 2013 building the mod and testing it.@SAR_KRIK DOWNLOAD also not required I would suggest if the bug is still in it the SAR_KRIK not to use it. I had this addon in my COWarMod and folks were getting complaints that the AI in their squad were spam yelling grenade, and indeed they were, your better off with RugDSai http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6092 if you want AI saying stuff. @IF_Other_Addons_lite DOWNLOAD If im not mistaken and i forget, this also isn't required for the missions, its basically this http://ironfront.forumchitchat.com/post/if-explosions-addon-6246402 @Soap DOWNLOAD Is a sound mod, I highly dout that is required too, again another optional file that the mission dont require NIM dynamic weather DOWNLOAD remember this from OFP, it just adds weather effects and weather enhancement if you will, so ag ain its an optional file @IF_lite if you have the full IFA2 conversion this isn't needed, if you did use it you would be running IF twice You need to specify what the missions needs only not what folks should get based on what you like, yes they are good files, yes, Sar krik is bugged. So really the command line should be this if you remove the optional files:-mod=@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@31stWWA2; @I44 ;@vte; @Pacific_beta; @odenLIB;@odenLIB1 ; @LIB_DLC_1_lite;@Schwemlitz; @deadcity;@Thirsk;@s_houses;@mbg_Buildings_3 I changed the order as you want CBA files first, then all your mods, then your addons, so you have major mods I44, Pacific, vietnam, oden tanks and winter camo ect,. maps, buildings, a suggested mod order, if you add any of the optional mods in there like IFWarMod, and Soaps sound mod then put them after the major mods, as they are big mods themselves.Final note: Do it right do not reupload files of other mods without consent of the mod authors, by doing that your basically redistributing their mods without their permission I see some of the mods are listed on armaholic, while the others you have on sendspace which imo I dont see why for all that work when the MR has all those files linked already and with one click. Suggest you take the time and link the required mods accordingly and not upload them to your own host unless you have acquired permissions to mirror those files and redistribute them. Im sure some folks dont care, i care about my IFWarMod being uploaded somewhere especially a customized version or an old version. Figured you would know this considering you are a member of BIS forums whom of all places are very strict on their rules about permissions from modders about their work, we uphold it here too. =======================

Sorry Gunter, I really don't want to hurt you and your team with reuploading the war mod. You know I bless your and your team's work what you guys doing in Arma/IF44 is awesome. I did it for reason couse you know it wont work with the other needed addons. So I must deleted some .pbo-s from your mod. So I uploaded the war mod version works with I44 with installed 1.1 patch. The patch 1.2 absolutely dont work together with the other needed mods. That is fully custom now. Couse are the custom download links. But yes, you right it is not requirement to open the map. I'll try to change the download links to the original, but I'm afraid there will some errors or missing files, couse I allways changed some pbo-s in the mods... Downloading from the original links and make these changes is too complicated or may impossible to do again. There are too many of them. What I uploaded to the sendspace is the addons direct from my arma2 folder what works together. Its enough 1 missing or not correct pbo in not correct folder and the map will cant open. Thats the problem with these many addons. What you wrote for example the Nim weather or Soap's sound, yes it is just recommended addons, but if you dont install, the map will cant work. Will not open, becouse in the saved mission.sqm is saved the Soap's sound too, if you will not include, it will reports error for missing soap's pbo, and the mission will abort. You need everything what I posted, I tried. Really. The Sar Krik, yes it is sometimes crazy with the bug "granata" yell, I will try that RUG DSAI. Thx for the tip. PS. Again so sorry Gunter. Can I let the reuploaded war mod on sendspace or rather can I delete from there? I deleted the link from here.

No worries, its understandable, just ask for permission, before you upload the next time. For the IFWarMod its fine, just put a line stating why you need the version you uploaded, so if folks want to use it then they need your custom version or they run into problems.Quote:

What you do is open the mission.sqm and under addons and autoaddons you delete the classname entries for those addons .

Hi!!! it's my first post on the Forums. And i want to say thanks to Gunter Severloh and everyone involved in the IF project. Also, i want to congratulate csaky85 for his amazing reproduction of the city of Stalingrad, but unfortunately, i'm here to report an issue. So, after installing all the mods, addons and other stuff, i was able to play smoothly...until i decided to make a custom mission in the map . I'll make a detailed description of it, so you guys will know everything about the proccess and how it lead to this issue. I decided to make a "Counter-Offensive" scenario where 6 Soviet batallions get out of their base and cross the Volga River using boats (i chose U.S. LCVP, since it's faster than the others) to reach the Mamayev Kurgan area of the map, which would have some German Soldiers and Half-Tracks defending it. Then the batallions would progress through the city and engage in batlles at the streets of Stalingrad. At the other side of the map (next to the Train Station), i placed T-34 Tanks and some "Katyusha" at the rear to fight against a huge line of German Panzers'. I was also thinking about placing lots of Soviet Infantry coming from that side and "invading" the city, reaching the Square of The Fallen Fighters and fighting against the last and most powerful group of Germans. I used various types of "Waypoints" and was planning to use some Scripts too. For a Cold/Snow effect, i increased fog and used "weather" options from the Thirsk Addon. I was testing everything i included to see if they were working properly. For some strange reason, the Russian Architecture files didn't opened (i really want to know why), but the real issue happened when i was reaching the city with the boats. Firstly, the weather effects suddenly disappeared, and right when the Soldiers were about to get out from the boat (the moment when the game recognizes Enemy Units), it crashed to desktop. I verified it to see if it was a accident, but it hapened AGAIN...and AGAIN. The same thing happened when i tried to place some Luftwaffe units in another Mission. What could be wrong? maybe it's a folder/organization thing or an issue in a particular unit (a German one)?

Hmmm I think the carshes couses some I44 units which are not fully compatible with IF44 or Warmod. You used there some I44 Empty vehicles or planes or armored? Try to using only IF44 units together. It will work correctly. The I44 mod I used in the map for only the buildings and ruins.

Sorry for the late response (i was busy and had no time to play the game). I'll try this and report the result here.Update: I was doing some testing and found out that the error was being caused by the weather options (i was using Snow, Fog and Snowstorm effects together); by removing the Snow effect only and setting Fog Level to 2, i was able to progress on the mission. I'll keep adding things to the map and report here if i find errors. Currently, i want to know why the Russian Architecture 3D models still cannot be placed as in-game structures in the Editor.

Hi guys. Sorry for my missing. I was inactive a long time but finaly I have time for using the mission editor So, I build the city bigger than its in the last videos. Too bigger that I reached a number of objects that my computer seems to be a bit slow... So my plans build the full factory and Spartanovka areas must be build in a new clear map. Until I made short video flying over the now existing city from the grain elevator area through the midtown (Fallen fighter's square) through the Pavlovs area and finished with the Red October. All these areas was made one by one so the roads, etc. are not connected together. Check it

@csaky85 - The City is looking great - congratulations! Can I ask whether the large darker areas you pass over in the Ju87 are in fact smoke? I can see the plume effects from some of the buildings, but these look a lot like large patches of scorched ground? Much larger than the craters available in the editor. @killuminati - If it helps, I've been experimenting with the new MKY Blizzard and Snow Script with notable success.

THx Foxsch, these dark spots what u ask are from the Hell in the Pacific mod. If u have this mod u can find it in the editor menu HIP-Roads and the name is dirtspot_04.
