This is a bit off-topic , but I came accross this addon http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=26618 , which seems to work for IFA2 and thus making the AI tanks a bit smarter/more realistic. However, it would be cool if anyone can help me verify that this addons actually works for IFA2. Secondly, I just observed a T34-85 take somewhere between 5-10 shells from a King T at between 10-50 meters before being destroyed... hehe. Is it possible at all to disable the hitpoint system implemented by awar and go for a completely separate system like "old" has been working on in the link provided by rowdied?http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?171586-Real-Armor-Mod&highlight=real+armor

Saw this and was hoping the smarter tanks worked in IFA2. Did you also test it in MP? ***Does not seem to work with IFA2. DePbo'ed and added IF tank classes to see and still the tanks keep their ass towards the enemy. I might not have implemented this properly so I will try to test later today. Seems like a great idea and haven't tried it in A3 yet to confirm the behaviour. It would be interesting to see 'olds' RAM work in IFA2, and maybe this would be the answer to Awars complicated system. Would need to find a way to incorporate the damage model as well. thanks

I didn't test it in MP. Thank you for trying it out though, I wasn't sure if it had worked or not. But, I would say this addon is kind of a must for us/IFA. Have you gotten to look more into it? Perhaps we can check with the author.

Thanks kju! Do you have opinion on how complicated it would be to implement this for IFA2 & IFA3? I want to emphasize to need to implement something like this for IFA2 as this is seemingly where there's most players atm -as IFA3 is still under construction.

Not possible in A2/OA engine. IFA2 is no longer actively developed and IFA3 is nearing completion.

Sounds great but have BIS released the tools to make new vehicles yet? I don't recall if they have, but would be great if they did. Thanks for all your hard work!!

Alright, after studying an unbinarized IF tank model, I think it is definitely possible to implement new vehicles to the IF damage system, it simply requires that a new model is rigged with certain selections and proxies and the rest is config work with a lot of mathematics ! I will attempt to fix the IF damage system in the upcoming days but I can not promise anything. Also does a T-34 take about 5-10 shells from a K.Tiger in the non-A2 Iron Front ? I can't seem to remember

Sounds fantastic! The T34 is not the problem though, the JS2 is and especially in multiplayer games. Also, since the Sherman is supposed to brew up quickly, it doesn't happen all that often either. The German tanks pop their tops wayyyyy more often than the allied ones so maybe look into that as well. thanks again!

He released a new version on the forums but haven't had a chance to test it yet.
