Unofficial Iron Front Patch - last list update December 8th, 2013 The Unofficial Iron Front Patch is a WIP (work in progress) fixing of the IF game and its DLC. The idea behind this patch is to go through the game in its entirety and basically fix various aspects of it that were not fixed by the official patches released by Awar. The idea stems from the "mod" in Skyrim called the Unofficial Skyrim Patch and the changelog for that patch, yes its a mile long stemming back from March 2012!! So this is not for requesting new content, or changing the existing stuff to something better, this is for fixing many aspects of the game itself . So this would include off the top of my head the following things to fix in the game: textures model issues spelling mistakes incorrect wording of units or vehicles, tanks ect,,. (we will need a historical reference on the correct ones if anything is found.) non working modules script errors terrain mapping (this is where the AI fail to use the terrain or use buildings) and many more! Happens when using all of the German tanks to fire at any Russian tank regardless of experience and difficulty setting. Anti-tank guns stutter when hitched to any vehicle. The guns also wobble everywhere when you try to rotate the gun while pushing.Place any unit on the map. Notice the unit icon has a marker in the top left corner. Russians have a hammer and sickle and Germans have a Iron cross.The SDkfz251 comes in 2 versions in the game. A German version and a version with Russian markings captured by the Russians.The one captured by the Russians incorrectly has an Iron cross in the corner - it should be a hammer and sickle. - the front amor of Panther and Tiger I are to less: The Sherman und T34/76 can not penetrate the front armor over more 100 m, the T34/85 need less then 500 m, IS 2 ~ 1000 m. -Just the IS 2 can penetrate the front claces or mantle (on a turret) from a Kingtiger, anybody else just can penetrate side or back. -Panzerschreck shooter overaim the target if the are close. -If you give them an order to attack a tank and the are on a position "middle" they will kill himself, like an early suicide bomber ;-) - if somebody have a meanweapon and a pistol, sometime for him it is an availble to move, after he like to change from a pistol back to a gun or SMG. Ai In DLC D-day mission As I sit on Omaha beach my m1 garande puts down a ai. Where one ai goes down 2 more spring up and where 2 go down four more spring up! Not really but it seems that way. I'm not sure if this is a bug, a spawn piont, or all the ai on the map come to that bunker when I kill everyone but something is not right.

DLC House Geometry Bug There's a problem with some house models in the DLC where it seems that the physical building doesn't match the actual model of it. To reproduce go into the editor, place yourself as a soldier (any side should do), go up to the corners of a building and try shooting from behind cover. Try the ruined buildings, particularly the corners. You should find that even with the weapon sights aimed clear of the corner the bullets appear to be hitting it. I'm no modder but it appears the geometry or fire geometry LOD extends just a bit beyond the model. Can anybody reproduce it to confirm? No idea if this is possible to fix at the minute.

MG42 - LOW RATE OF FIRE I'm resurrecting my written earlier post (on IF forum). When AI firing MG42, rate of fire is too low. This situation occurs only when the AI shoots. For comparison, when I shoot with MG42 - rate of fire is OK. When AI shoots, it sounds like AI pulling the trigger repetitively: two/three times per second. It means that rate of fire of MG42 when AI shoots is some about 120/180 rounds per minute. Rate of fire of real MG42 should be at least 900 rounds per minute. Best if it is about 1200 rounds per minute. But better than thousand words is the movie. So, please look, listen and compare... Incorrect rate of fire:

Same problem seems to be with the Maxim MG. The AI firerate is slower than used by player.

Is this not the AI trying to keep the MG42' massive ammo burn down to a minimum, 1200RPM remember.

BARANOW River Crossing bridge Gagclin i check the other river crossing on same map thing's are same way. Had tanks trying to get the ai to cross in tank's or any thing they just drove in water. to get them to fire the GrWr 34 a cross the river they fire but on same side their on . if you open the map hit clicked on the map and (move there) they swim a cross and river crossing bridge is right there, some thing with the bridge? try to get them to fire in diff place's away from the bridge with the GrWr34 along the river and it work's they will fire at position a cross the river .

There has always been something with the AI and bridges both in arma2 and IF. But this script helps with vehicles crossing the bridges.AI bridge script

Arty Module bugs: Katyusha firing issues and lacking whistle sound (spotted during FAW script tests) - Katyusha is unreliable in current version. This affects IMO only first fire mission, subsequent fire missions in same scenario seems to be fine: BM13 fires, but in wrong direction, eg outside the map area, or not far ahead the car (instead of targeting-firing-resting there is targeting-resting-firing). In summary - for now Katyusha should be considered as not working properly with arty module unless is used spawn shells mode, where has no meaning, if piece is set at good azimuth and elevation when firing. Also as a bug can be considered fact, that BM-13 uses Arma's BM-21 GRAD arty ammo. - For both mortars there are RPT and on screen warning messages: Code:

Some optical sights have an invalid increase and incorrect aiming nets. Gentleman thanks for posting your finds. In the future when anyone posts any bugs they find, or problems in the game, inccorect wording of names for tanks, weapons, soldiers, vehicles, weapons. Please indicate what game the issues are for, either Iron Front or the DDay DLC, as they are both seperate entities (games) from each other. So when you post and list your issues you find put in the title Iron Front or DDay DLC. Doing this the modders on the IFR team that will be looking into fixing/correcting the issues/problems/bugs ingame can know which game to go into and look for such problems and correct them. Saving them time, and everyone else for waiting for a patch with new fixes, and other misc things.
