Found a small bug in rifle sounds.

This applies to German and Soviet rifles.  The US dont have an equivalent so it does not apply.

 

Fire a bolt action rifle and listen to the sound.

Now switch to a semi-automatic rifle and listen to the sound.   The sound is different as you would expect.

Have one of your men fire a bolt action rifle and it is the same sound as above.

Now have one of your men fire a semi-automatic rifle. It sounds like a bolt action rifle!

When friendly or enemy Soviet and German troops fire a semi auto rifle it sounds like a bolt action rifle.

When you're commanding a tank in Iron Front Lib 1944, the gunner is asleep and won't fire the main gun on his own initiative.
In AA2CO a mod fixes it, I tried importing the mod into IF Lib44 but I can't make it work, so hopefully somebody will create a similar mod for IF Lib44.

IFL44:- AI tank gunners sometimes keep wasting time and ammo by firing at dead burning enemy tanks as if they haven't got the brains to realise they're junk.

IFL44:- AI panzerschrecks waste rockets by firing at infantry.

IFL44:- AI AT-grenade throwers usually miss by a mile

In the editor, place on the map, a selection of  soldiers and static weapons.

Note that Germans have a small iron cross in the top left corner of the soldier icon.

Note that Russians gave a hammer and sicle in the top left corner of the soldier icon.

Now place a German mortar on the map.  The soldiers icon has a hammer and sicle in the top left corner!

IFL44:- I don't know if it's a bug, but when you're in a tanks external 3rd person freelook view as the driver, you can only pan around 180-degrees in the direction the hull is pointing which means you can't look behind you.

(I know that If you're the commander in external freelook view you can look 360-degrees, but the disadvantage is that the gunner goes to sleep and he won't fire on his own initiative when you're commander. [A fix wakes the sleeping gunner in AA2 but as far as I know there's no fix for IFL44]
And i know that in IFL44 you can go to the Tactical (birds eye) freelook view to get 360 as driver, but the disadvantage is that you can't zoom the screen, you can only move the camera in/out relative to the tank)

The Pe-2 fires both gun types from the same barrel.
Also needs adjusting of the sights. Elevation is too high resulting in rounds hitting low.

In Operation Arrowhead I did a test:

Place a man on the map.  Set a trigger so that he fires at a pop up target.

Test 1:  He has a Lee Enfield bolt action rifle and fires 3 rounds in about 5 seconds.

Test 2: He has a SLR semi auto rifle and fires about 5 rounds in 5 seconds.

Switch to Iron Front and repeat the tests.

The German, Russian and US bolt action rifles all fire about 3 rounds in 5 seconds.

The German and Russian semi auto rifles fire about 3 rounds in 5 seconds.

The US semi auto rifles fire about 5 rounds in 5 seconds.

The rate of fire of the German and Russian semi auto rifles is way too slow. It is the same rate of fire as bolt action rifles.

Zis-3 wrong smoke effect

It should use the same smoke effect as the Pak-40. Due to it's muzzle break.

I'd like to see the ambient combat module be fixed. it makes me sad knowing that I cannot use it because it adds a level of randomness to mission, giving it a bit of replay ability
