I am working on it slowley as my time is abit of limited.

But for modding i can say that soldiers and weapons are quite easy to put in.
However tanks and vehicles are a bit of an pain to import correctly.
They work, but the Ifl4 damage system are quite a lot of work.
The tanks have an insane amont of things to add to them for to work good with thier armor system.
The same for the cars and trucks.

Nice to see you also Gunther.
I never left, but got rather tired of the discussion with my former mod.
So i have been "hiding" for some time now.

Anyway i bought this but was put of by the no modding thing.
But as true "modder" i never played it much, but started to take this game appart.
To find the way to mod it, and found it.
And now when the developers have left it i guess its up to us to make it a real game.

Good points. Awar should have let IF be moddable from the get go, i bet they would still be around if it were so.
You were always a true modder, you have some awesome skills, happy to see you again, just seeing your name reminds me of old OFP days, and of course
our fantastic work you did on the mod for Arma2 for 1.SS you rally had accomplished alot there, very sad to see that Wolfrum died though back then, i still
think about him once in a while and miss him, I bet if he were still here today he would be playing this, you know how accurate anal he was.

Anyways so Im reading here that you are looking at the IF files and possibly looking to make it so that it works for Arma2CO? as a mod?

T-Roc, I'm confident with your help we may modify some original stuff of IF and even move them into ARMA2 to combine with other Mods.  Because of being abandoned by its DEV. and Publisher, we now have no reasons to follow their game rules! We need to help ourselves to keep the game alive.

Thanks, guys, I'm glad to be here. And Tay-UK really did a very good thing to set up the inofficial forum site. Without such efforts, it Could be very depressing to our fans during the period. And I think we could still discuss lots of things here which can't be encouraged by DP in the official forum.

It starts to look like a comedy.

I did register to that forum months ago but they never gave me the posting rights.
I quess they dont want me there.

Did you register as 'T-Roc'? Maybe you could try another nickname. But they don't have any reasons to limit your posting there.

Being somewhat cynical, I think you may have hit the nail on the head, it's all very strange how the official forums come back just days after what has been going on here. Maybe we have rattled a few cages?

Aye, that the forums are now back up after this successful site was set up is a bit of a coincidence.

From what we have heard, key people involved with the project weren't aware of the forums going down. Not only that but we've also heard that the devs are working on a new project.

Now with the official forums back up, we're told that there will be news soon. OK, cool.

I'm not sure what that news will be but given what we've heard so far I wouldn't get my hopes up that the development will be revived. Maybe the release of the last patch? It would be nice provided it doesn't break the game. Maybe the game will be opened up to modding? Possible I suppose. Who knows? They really need to state their intentions though. Has work on the game stopped? Will we be getting a last patch? Will the game be opened up to modding? Will the forums stay up?

I hope these forums continue though. The official forums have been taken down once already, no reason it couldn't happen again.

I hope so, I hope they wake up and realize after all this time we are right about the modding.

I'm doubting that, its already been said the investors stopped investing and stopped the project and now just Awar are off on their own and DS, and the investors own IF now,
not totally sure on that but from the info I have got from before. Plus Awar's new project from what Panzer baron had replied to a question about,
is Awar will be doing a new WW2 project.

I quote the question and Panzer Baron's reply:

Hello, I am Panzer Baron, AWAR's art-director.
Guys, the situation is pretty sad, mostly especially for AWAR, as the main developer. The game itself as a brand belongs to Deep Silver (publisher and investor),
all the main decisions are also taken only by Deep Silver, and we are not approved to say anything not-agreed with them about the situation.
Iron Front was our first project. The sales were pretty successful as far as I know, but I don't see any moves to continue it by Deep Silver.

About the greediness - guys, please, don't forget that 50% of the Iron Front was done for free, just because we were hoping to release a good game.
And personally, I think we achieved it. With a small team, with no experience of any big project before, we created a game that was noticed a bit in the world.
The need for money is not because we are greedy - we just need resources to keep the team alive - we don't have any serious capital. And so,
we had somehow to move on. Now we work on a new project, taking in account all the good and bad experience we gained from Iron Front developing.

Good questions Snafu, as for the forums here, i think Tay can agree with me that were here to stay, I see no reason to shut these down just because the Official IF forums are now up,
for me the official ones leave for me a bad or tainted feel to them, they are not the same, somehow I feel cheated or taken advantage of when I go there, here on these forums is a fresh,
new and inspiring, and new beginnings, because unlike the official ones we are actually trying and working on things, to better help the Iron front community,
be it missions, editing information, answers to questions, scripts, or references to use.

Guys, I think we have to change a mind to persuade the DPS to keep their hands on the game. Obviously, AWAR just like us, they also can't do anything independently without the allowance of the big boss, DPS. So we have to make DPS believe it deserves to gon on this game. They can make money as they wish with the support of our fans. If they could release the new patches, DLC of eastern front, even granting the modding possibility, then they will become a big winner in the history of WWIi PC games...
You know, they won't care our needs and they just want to grab money. AWAR is also under their control by the agreement. But at the moment, I'm just uncertain how to let DPS be sure what's good to them...
