I use => PBO Manager v1-4 <= and it works fine. I have windows Xp 32 bits too.

zipped file is 170MB and contains all Gunter asked for.

but if all is working well as Joarius stated Gunter may have a wrong version of the prg?

Sorry for my late reply guys, but I work a 3rd shift (9pm-5am) got home about 7am today as I did some overtime, so i woke up late.

I downloaded it and used the x86 version of it and it worked!! Got the files open!!
I was right the LIB_ger_infantry.ifa file has all the German infantry with the paa files!

I appreciate everyone else's help but the files are open, now to figure out how to make it so that the game will see
the new units without overwriting the existing ones.

I think what we should do is to try to get one solder retextured and see if that works, i dont want to spend a ton of hours and it dont work.

Right now Im looking for tutorials on how to retexture existing soldiers, I found one but it is not very clear on how to do it, as what i would like to do is
not just change the existing texture of a soldier but take and existing soldier rename him in terms of class, and make it so you can add it to the game like an
addon and then be able to actually go into the editor and place the new soldier.
If anyone can help out in anyway in doing this then please do as im doing this for the community.

Just wanted to say thank you for looking into this Gunter. One of the biggest disdapointments (at least to me) with iron front being cancelled was the discontinuation of the implementation of new units to the game.

On a different note, didn't the 1.06 seem to be almost done? I wonder if someone who knows someone could ask if it could be released as a "as is/WIP"?

Hey guys small report on some progress on where Im at.
 Right now Im just getting a hold of some community modders I know that I have spoken with before that know how to do what Im looking to do for IF.

I have a tutorial that may help me get started, but I had sent a couple of pm's out on BIS forums asking about the tutorial I found which was by one of them,
very detailed and so forth, but I need to make sure what im doing is going to work.

The FJ Addon Project
For anyone who doesn't know, I am trying to create a (link-->Fallshirmjager faction for IF which we dont have, but we have a Luftwaffe faction but not FJ units.
So what this means is I'm working on an addon which when complete will add new Fallshirmjager units to the game, and I am hoping if it works correctly
that i can get them to show listed in the editor under the correct class, which then means that when you get the new addon, you will be able to
add Fallshirmjager units to your missions.
Joarius has initiated this process by showing us his wonderful screenshots of the texturs he has, he has provided these textures to us, so taking an interest in
this and helping the community for the modding aspect I will take these textures and see if I can get them to work ingame.

my plan currently stated at the beginning of this post is to basically get some information on how to do this, so that will mean i need to create a config or use
and existing config for a unit ingame and change it for the FJ units. From what info I got so far, this wont be really that hard at all, the only thing is that it may not be,
or wont be (not 100% sure on this yet) and dont really care about it, is that it wont be possible to play with the new units online
in terms of MP because of Awar's Bisign.

But first thing is first getting the new units created and ingame. So once I get setup with the tutorial and info and any tools I need,
i wills tart with one soldier and see where that goes.
i will keep you guys informed of my progress.

If this really works, then we can see what other types of units we could add, and or even vehicles, IDK whats possible yet.

Gunter, the idea to try this with one single soldier is very good.
I have no experience with that - modding stuff - so sorry, I can't help with it
But I remember I saw the Tiger I inside a screenshot -before- it was added to the game, and if I remember correct I saw a different US tank in a mission I testplayed once. (SP) too.
So it must be possible to add this Test-Soldier. The problem is, as you stated already, that sh.. signature file for multiplayer later on.
May be Devs will give us the needed infos one day, or may be someone will find out how to workaround this.

I'm sure theres a way, if you want to do something bad enough you'll figure a way. I see this as an opportunity to not only learn something by workign with
configs and such, because i can use that knowledge in other stuff I do as I have several mods I built for the Arma series, but then for IF Joarius has made
available some great textures which wouldn't go exactly to waste but I think it would be better if we all seen something new added to the game,
so thats what im attempting to do.

This if and when it works will be a springboard to more things to come.

I tried thi metod with my sturmer textures but doesn't work if i add the config the game will ask me for signature

Hey Simon! So you used existing config and signatures and just replaced the textures and it still didn't work? How did you test it in sp editor preview, or mp?

Should just combined the two folders into one
For mods it would be in the command like this:
-mod=@GEIST
the game already sees the directory all you need is to make sure all required files are in that one folder, for it to load into the game.
