Has anybody found anyway of introducing these into A3?
I tried a few attempts with O-Hally's static line A-10 (with a suggested C-130 mod) but after a little while thought that unless it was for a specifically (for instance) Fallschirmj√§ger Mission (very tempting), having to hide the modern equipment + needing the extra mods to play it, just wasn't justification enough.
[just realised - maybe this is in the wrong thread? Maybe a 'mod - addon and texture thread' soz]

Theres also http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?191920-Static-Line-Parachute-Mod
Should ask deltagamer and see if he can provide a script version, or code, and then give you the file for the parachute,
and put it into a mission and call it in the mission, this way no addons are required, an idea, whether it works or not is to be tested,
but you'll need his permission I would think if you use it in a different format and release it through a mission.

OK - after vast hours in the testing lab, I have a solution to 'no WWII-style Parachutes' available for the A3 Mission Editor.
The Parachute as Gunter suggested, built into a static-line mod by deltagamer [ @Static_Line_Parachute ].
You will need to have this mod running alongside any other you are using but the Parachute itself is not actually available in the editor as an object. You script it into missions, and change the parameters to suit the circumstances. If it is a WWII Mission there are no aircraft to suit a para-drop (yet[smile] but I didn't want to hold anything up, so I have put together a line, which will spawn (for instance -) @IFA3 units, into the dome parachute in flight.
Without using filmed sequences of suitable ARMA 2 aircraft, or unless a talented script writer (I am not) can come up with ways around this, we can still spawn in an  authentic WWII looking Parachute:
Place a Unit and in it's initialization field:

chute = "DEGA_T10_Parachute" createVehicle [0,0,0];   chute setPos [getPos this select 0, getPos this select 1, 280]; this moveIndriver chute;

'DEGA_T10_Parachute' being the classname of the Parachute - scripters might also be interested in: 'DEGA_T10_Parachute_backpack' the classname of the back pack.
'280' is the altitude the unit will spawn at.

*Please note!

deltagamer is happy for the classnames to be released into the public domain on the proviso-restriction that any use reflects the license they were designed and released with :- the 'ARMA Public Licence and Share Alike {APL-SA} which you can read about here.

  Enjoy!
