I was hoping someone could help me out.  I absolutely enjoy playing the Blitzkrieg missions with 100 AI and was hoping to try my hand at editing them.  I un-ifa'd them but when I go to look at them in the editor I get this error and crash.

I would really like to make copies of the vanilla versions of most of the blitzkrieg missions and add US to them.  If I knew how to make a blitzkrieg mission I would just make my own but I can't see how they were made in the first place.  Any help would be appreciated.

Instead of extracting you better use the templates here:
https://dev-heaven.net/projects/if-mp-game-mode/files

In general best use eliteness/mikero's tools to extract and pack the files.

Thank you kju I'll give that a shot.  Should the version of eliteness I grab be version 3.11.0.5?  The sad thing is I've been playing around with the arma games since arma all the way up to arma3 but never bothered with the editor.  I've uninstalled arma3 as it doesn't really grab my attention but this game, Iron Front, I really enjoy.  I still have arma2 installed with all the dlc and tons of mods but haven't touched it since purchasing this.  I just wish I could get some of those mods for arma2plus to work in this.

Thanks again I will grab those files right now though I'll be honest and say.... I really don't know what to do with them lol

Where would I save these files so I can edit them?

You need to put them in your missions folder of your user profile.

If you aren't using the -profiles=.. startup parameter it should be in:
C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Iron Front
or
C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Iron Front Other Profiles

After that you load them from within the editor and move the zones, put/remove vehicles for example.
Finally you export it as MPMission and can play with via MP-new-hosted server

Ok I put the markers where I wanted the capture points to be but nothing is happening.  I don't have any active AI nor do I have the parameters option at the start so I can customize it.  I'm sorry I'm totally lost on this.  I spent as much time as I can trying to figure it out but dispatch called me out for alarms ( I'm on call 24/7/365 ) .

When I fire up the mission I have several soldiers standing there but nothing is happening. Do I need to add scripts, vehicles, AI and all the other good stuff?  I'm really sorry but this is completely new to me.  I'm sure with all the questions I have you'll just want to kick me in the head before too long.

They are created as multi player missions.

The soldiers will do nothing until you go online and have players control individual soldiers.

To make it a single player mission you need to group the soldiers with a leader.

Then with you as leader you can command the soldiers or else they will follow you as yo move.

My bad GerhartRTFO [angel]

You need to extract an existing IFA mission of Blitzkrieg and copy all files over, but do not overwrite the ones from the template.
Some more details from my old post here: http://forum.iron-front.com/showthread.php?59-Quick-start-on-quot-How-to-create-new-Blitzkrieg-missions-quot

If you don't get it to work, pack your editor mission, upload at a temp host and post the link to allow me to check it.

Thank you kju I really do appreciate your help.  I will definitely be checking out that link.  Quick question, since I want to use AI I assume I need to extract one of the AI enabled blitzkrieg missions in order to have them, is this correct?  Since there are two copies of blitzkrieg missions the ones I want are the ones with [AI] in the title, correct?

Thank you again for your help.

Yep. Although its easy to change:

Blitzkrieg_XXX.XXX\settings\MissionSettings.hpp

No AI:
//#define AASD_PVP_VERSION

With AI:
#define AASD_PVP_VERSION

Kju this is great.  I've got my first mission going but I really want to tweak it and add some things so I'm trying to figure them out.  Is there anyway, after a position is captured, to have ammo boxes, weapons and vehicles spawn at said position?  Let's say I, playing as Germany, capture position 2.  How would I make it so that maybe a tank, apc and flak gun spawn at position 2 with no AI in them as these would be for my own use.  I would like to also spawn ammo boxes and weapon boxes at same location after capturing positions.

Also is there any way to have random artillery/mortar rounds landing while capturing positions?  Example: Germany is attacking position 2 coming from position 1 and Russia is coming from position 3 to defend 2.  I want the rounds to land between position 1 and 3 both German and Russian.  After position 2 is captured it then moves up between the next objective, which would be between 2 and 4, moving along as objectives change.  Or having artillery on the field and the AI actually use them.  Example: spawning in a mortar team for both sides at the same positions mentioned previously then despawn and respawn for the next objectives.

Are there any templates for Omaha also how would I go about changing the Russian side, in some of the templates, to be USA?  Thank you so much once again and I am really sorry for all these questions?

I have a youtube channel with a couple of gameplays of Iron Front on it, more to come.  I uploaded the first video but the damn thing is too dark on YT, I don't know what they did but it's bad.  Going to record a mission I set up and upload it when I can, you're more than welcome to check out the channel.   www.youtube.com/user/GerhartRTFO

How much are you into scripting?

There are no event triggers for zone capture. However one could hook into scripts/variables fairly easily to achieve such.

For arty/mortar - check armaholic scripts section.

Omaha - not yet. Will try to get them out at the end of the week.

For changing armies/equipment, check
\configuration\MODsets\*.

Unfortunately I've not done any scripting.  Was on several mod teams for Battlefield 2, Allied Intent Extended ( AIX ), Eve of Destruction ( EOD ), BattleGroups Frontlines ( died before it's time ) and a couple of others.  There wasn't any scripting like in this game but I did a lot coding for A.I. behavior, vehicle and map tweaks, nothing like this though.

I started looking at scripts at armaholic some time ago but wasn't too sure if they would work.  Sadly some of the ones I would like to use, especially for A.I. behavior, require CBA which isn't compatible with this.  I'll go back through them to see what I can find.  Should I avoid the Arma2CO ones and stick with just the Arma2 scripts?

Will you be posting a link in these forums for the Omaha temps?

Thanks again for all your help and advice, you've been rather patient and that is appreciated.

Instead of having ammo spawn there are other solutions.

Place ammo in a truck or jeep.  When you capture the position order the vehicle drive to your location.

OR;  Set up a trigger.  The trigger fires when you capture the position.

When the trigger fires the vehicle drives to your position.

I have been using the editor for only 18 months.   Play with it and ask lots of questions.  Eventually it all falls into place.

For every "problem"  there is more than one solution.  Some will respond "write a script"   but I have found 90% of things can be done by using your brains and tools provided in the editor.
