Is there a way in IF44 (ARMA 2) to check if i.e. a tank is burning.
I know I can check fireplaces but this doesn't work for vehicles.
Someone can help me ahead here? Is there a known workaround for this?

There is a way by checking, if in the direct vicinity of the vehicle is present special object, that is source of destruction effects like burning. Try such check:

_isBurning = ((count (MyCar nearObjects ["#destructioneffects",0.1])) > 0);

But this is working only for vehicles destroyed in "vanilla" Arma way (damage = 1). IFL tanks are scripted with custom damage model with own burning effects, that has different source, so this test for them will fail. In that case you can try:

_isBurning = ((count (MyTank nearObjects ["#particlesource",3])) > 0);

But note, that not only burning of destroyed tank can have #particlesource object. In rare situations this can be triggered also by other sources of particles, if close enough to the vehicle. You can reduce search radius from 3 to eg 2, but for bigger vehicles and too small values source of burning effects on vehicle can be not found, as source is not on exact vehicle's position (model center).

Works so far, but I must see how to 'finetune' it.

What about checking if the tank crew is either dead or has ejected?

Something like this:

_noAliveInside = (({alive _x} count (crew MyTank)) == 0);

I want to check if something is burning. IMO you can't check that by the suggested idea.
