Hi all,

What i'm tring to do is end a mission (trigger)with a "captured" radio. You have to infitrate a town by night  "steal"an enemy radio, take it back to your vehicle and drive off.My intention is to end the mission some hundred yards downroad with you and your companion in the car.
I have tried synchronizing the trigger with the radio-no joy.
i have tried "synchronizing" -f2(group)-with the radio-no joy.
i have tried naming the radio and putting "radio1 present;"in the trigger-no joy.

Any thoughts?

Possibly using attachto to attach the radio to whoever picks it up, don't know if it will still detect it though if you in a car, but its worth a try.

you can activate the attachTo command via an addAction added to your radio object. Make sure you name the radio object in the editor.

Place the object on the map.

Name it for example  box1

In the trigger: Activation is  Anybody

In the Condition field type:   box1 in thislist

As  box1  passes into the trigger area the trigger will fire

Hi there joe98,

I can't get it to work...would having the trigger as an "end" have anything to do with it,or the fact that-box1-has no brackets around it?

Thanks for your time!
Any thoughts?

Yes i have it as an End

No  brackets. It looks like this:

jeep1  in  thislist

Note there is no space between  this  and list.

You can test by naming a jeep   jeep1

Place a soldier on the map and name him blue1

Walk through the trigger and it will not fire

Go back and get in the jeep and drive through the trigger and it will fire!

hi there joe98,
Firstly thanks ever so much for the time you've put in here on this question.
I've just tried out what you said with the jeep and it works just fine, but,i don't want the jeep to trigger the end mission! It's the radio i want to do that, and for some reason if i use this method it doesn't work on the radio...
I've trawled the "arma" forums but i havn't been able to find anything...any thoughts?
By the way,thanks again!

Try this is the condition field of your end trigger:- (Funkbag being the class name of the german radio backpack)

If playing russian have it set for russian present, once

(Player in thislist) and (typeOf unitBackpack player) == "FunkBag"

Hi there Tay,
Just got my PC on line again,I've copied and pasted the line of code that you gave ,but to no avail.
Let's just see that i'm doing it right.

1.Trigger is an "end (no.1)"set to ussr present, once.
2.The radio is a German radio of the sort you can pick up and carry(not the static object type.)It has no name-it's not named.
3.The trigger has the line of code you gave me directly copied and pasted as it is written above in the condition line of the trigger.(countdown/timeout are all set to "0")

I run through the trigger and nothing...that's a lie...i pull my hair!!!

any ideas!!

For the sake of testing change the trigger type from an end to a none type.

1. Make the trigger say 20 x 20 size but make sure your not in it.
2. Make it set for USSR present and once.
3. Copy and paste the code in the condition box
(Player in thislist) and (typeOf unitBackpack player) == "FunkBag"

4. In the on activation write this
hint "You have the radio and you have made it home, the mission is over!"

5. Place the radio in front of your USSR player.
6. Preview it, pick up the radio and run in to the trigger zone.

It works for me

Basically the trigger is asking for 2 conditions to be met, 1st is that the player has to have the radio and be in the trigger zone the 2nd part of the condition is that the player is USSR faction. The trigger won't activate unless all 2 conditions are met.

I would have a second trigger to end the mission with all the same settings and condition, but change it to an end one with a 10 second delay.

Hi there,
ok i've just got it to work....the funny thing was that i was doing everything right...i mean copying what you had said. What i had to do was to delete the trigger etc. and start afresh. It was as though writing and deleting so many times over the same part had left "traces"and was blocking it.The same thing had happened when i was learning to how to customize backpacks.Very frusrating.
Once again many many thanks to the community for your help.
