Fairly recently i saw a you tube video promoting the new edition to the Arma series,Arma 3.I think it was by Jester 814 or Swiss Maverick ,and there was a part of it that simulated a firing squad.Basically a group of "blue" soldiers were lined against a Wall and shot by the "red" faction.Well,it got me thinking of how i could do it for IF and how to incorpórate it into a missión.I am unfortunately computer illiterate and unable to place the template on the site,but,if anyone is interested i DID get it to work.You DO need the D-DAY DLC though.Sorry,i couldn't get it to work without it.For the purposes of this demonstration i had the German Faction as my Faction.

1, place yourself on the map.

2;place a soldier from your faction on the map next to you.Make sure you are not "grouped".Name him k1.(killer1!!)

3,place an American soldier on the map in front of the soldier you have just named k1.Firing squad distance away.Name him v1  (that's victim1!!).In his "initialization" box write the following

                              removeAllWeapons this;this forceSpeed 0;

4;Now go to the "Intel" box on the top right hand side of the map(where the cloud is),click it,and on the lower part where it says "allies are friendly to.." put "everybody".


5;now go back to "k1",give him a move waypoint and just in front of that waypoint place another(move) waypoint.

6;Place a trigger next to k1's first waypoint and in "axis/angle " put "0".In "activation" put the choice "radio alpha",and in "type" scroll for the choice  "switch".Now synchronize the trigger to "k1's"first waypoint.

7;now go to (or goto!!) "k1's" second waypoint and write this in the "on act:" box.

            k1 dofire v1;

8;Now preview...press the "0" key and select "radio". The Word "alpha" should be displayed,press enter.You have signed the death warrant of the poor enemy soldier and are now liable for a warcrimes trial!!...and your terrible team-mate SHOULD go forward and shoot the helpless (and hapless) American.

If you want your dastardly friend to wait before firing; in the "min/mid/max" boxes of his second waypoint put for example the number 10.He will move forward and wait 10 seconds before firing.

Apart from being an editing exercise i do believe this can be incorporated into a misión.My first idea is to actívate the trigger on a "Red forces present" and in k1's second waypoint give myself 5  MINUTES before he fires.This would allow me to fight my way through the enemy and kill the firing squad.The firing squad can be enlarged by placing individual units-ungrouped-and give them seperate-ungrouped- victims.You could incorpórate"Kylanias" excelent hostage script to actually rescue the hostages and leave with them.(Or a "join and lead" waypoint).
I cannot get the firing squad member to shoot more than one victim,hence the necesity for enlarging the firing squad equal to the number of victims.
Obviously you cannot play with the Faction that's getting executed.
It is a lot easier with Arma 2 where you have civillians,in this way anyone can committ the atrocity and all factions are free to be the héroes.
I havn't tried it with Arma 3.
Instead of v1 being a person it could be a truck/tank,just make sure that k1 is armed with the appropiate weapon to destroy it!!(give him some extra ammo to make sure!)

Have fun and DO rescue the prisoners please!!

Thanks ! I'll use this in some of my missions ! You could actually do this without the DLC by putting "this setcaptive true;" in a units init line

okay...but would they then be shot?i mean the wouldn't the firing squad "see" them as friends?

Here is my tip for anyone who wants the execution style mission with more realism.
Once the squad shoots, make one POW play move ( POW1 switchMove "AidlPpneMstpSnonWnonDnon_SleepB_death"; ) while he's still CAPTIVE.
And then the executioner moves forward to a waypoint close to the killing fields, at that point , set CAPTIVE false,
and your SS-man as seen below will draw the handgun to finish the job.



I am sorry I can't post the mission, it might be too cruel, and 50+ rated.
