Hey guys,
I dont own the DDay DLC, and was pondering on getting it from gamersgate digital download, wondering if I should get it or not, what does everyone think about it, I know it has only so much content and Im sure theres a couple of bugs, but overall is it worth $10?

Is it worth getting for its content and IF feel?

Your thoughts.

Hello Gunter, I would say its worth the 10.00 bucks to get.  I havent had any issues (as of yet with the DLC) and it has some fun missions.  I say get it.  Just my 2 cents.   S!

Hi Bluntman, thanks for the reply.
I normally wont buy something with the RV engine for any missions it has but mainly for the content and the quality of it, I do know very
well Awar's type of content they produce and their history in OFP, Im more after the content and the editor as thats where I spend my time,
i just want to know from everyone else's experience how they like the IF version of the Western theater in terms of the type of features that
IF has for example the death animations, the gear menu system and other aspects, also has the editor been updated in terms of the modules?

Generally its just bits of DDay and a nice Coleville map. The work that was put into the stuff surely is worth the 10$, but in hindsight to the latest IF developments I personally do bit of regret to have it purchased. I do not care much on a higher poly Sherman tank with slightly better textures and I44 offers way way more, when it comes to western front and D Day stuff. When I had to decide again NOW, I´d skipped the D Day DLC. For the sake of completeness, ...buy it! But maybe price gets dropping off to 5$, so waiting somewhat more can´t hurt.

Thanks for your feedback RockinHarry,
I may wait til the price drops a bit, but i have no urges on buying it atm just pondering on
whether I should or not but I actually would consider it once TRoc enables IF and the DLC moddable, so we'll see.
If anyone else has nything else they would like to add about it then post your reply.

No, no it's not worth the £10. Just wait until there is a sale.

However, if you really don't care about wasting £10, then get it. We need more (completed ones, anyway) community missions for the DLC. Most of the ones currently on the mission repository are mostly unfinished. The AWAR ones aren't much better, especially the Omaha Beach scenario, that one is not fun at all.

I say wait for a sale.
One of the main features would have been the Tiger 1 but that was a free gift.
The only worth content would be the concrete bunkers, BAR, Springfield, and I want to say the P-47. Although I think the map is too small for it.
It also allows you to do extra things like; Picking roses with your mates and taking long walks on the beach.

Whats funny was on IF forums us moderators were given the gift key for steam for the DLC, so i could have had it free then, but i didn't want to
deal with steam as my current IF copy is from BIS Store and I got it for $30, i still have the email receipt, I wanted to buy from BIS, but now BIS dont
sell either IF or the DLC on their store, unless im blind.
i think i'll wait, I got my hands full with the MR, and this project were working on here, I hardly play IF as it is anyways, let alone Arma2CO.

I would say that this dlc is very rushed and low on content.
I dont know if its worth it, not much money but if they can sell everything we get shit.

The DLC is was too little and wrong Theater.

I spent the last two and half months with Invasion 44 which is free and has a Hell of a lot more Western Front Content.  this is what I created with the free Invasion 44 DLC because I could not create it in the with the limited DLC content:  http://www.youtube.com/feed/playlists

The DLC was a disaster because their DLC should have expanded on the Eastern Front.  But they went away from their base game on the Eastern Front, and moved to the Western Front with a Small DLC.  And that is why it bombed and they are now out of business in my opinion!  A Hitler Moves East DLC  or Expansion Pack would have been a HUGE success and I for one would have paid for it.

Invasion 44 has no plans for the Eastern Front, they intend to port over the Western Front to Arma 3.  So, IF44 owned Eastern Front in terms of the Arma community. They should have stayed and expanded their niche market.  Many of us tried and pleaded with them to do this, but someone with the money thought a small Western Front DLC might make them some money.  See how it ended up.

No, the DLC is not worth the money.  But IF44 Eastern Front is WELL Worth the money, especially if we can get modding working.  Then they can sit back and take the profits from additional IF44 sales, while the modders make this game a success. Who cares about the money, let them have it as they continue to sell the game on Steam after having closed shop.  they just need to stay out of the way and those who love IF44 will make it a winner.

Personally I'm thinking who needs the DLC when you have Arma2CO I44.
But then again what our project is doing will change this whole thing, so I will wait, and yes I agree the dlc seemed like a quick buck for them,
they must have been in a desperate situation to release the little content they had and then that was it for both games.

It's still not worth it; I'd rather have a packet of cigarettes/3 pints of beer than the D-Day DLC.
