Hi all,
i was trying out ways of editing a resupply.One way of course is to use a trigger and have this "drive" up a vehicle and you can rearm.I was wondering if there was a way in which for example,the same type of trigger would trigger a jeep/truck to drive up and actually drop off an ammo crate.One could then resupply from there.I don't know why but i thought i'd seen one on the Arma Fórums but i'0ve spent hours looking through and found nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I'd hate to post link but Tayuk made something you can try. Dissect it and make it happen automatically via trigger if you want, or whatever?

Thanks Poor old Spike,it seems i've bitten off more than i thought...i really wanted something with a "dynamic" feel to it.If i do get it to "go" then rest assured i'll post it on the Fórum to share with everyone.

Thanks too Santa Six,i already use Tay's parachute drop in other missions!! it's GREAT!!,i just wanted something different.As a stand in what i'll probably do is use 2 radio triggers,one for an Ammo lorry to drive up and another for it to drive off when i'm done..just thinking as i'm writing....

Thanks all.

(But i'm still sure i saw a heli resupply on an Arma related Fórum..mmmmmmm...)

Santa..just read your thread again,i havn't used that one actually,i'll have a good look at it.Thanks.

There is a script about giving you the option to call an ammo drop via an addaction to the player, you map click where you want the drop and a plane is created a few miles away it flys to the mapclick position and paradrops an ammo crate, the plane then flys off and is destroyed. No idea if thats what your looking for?

Hi there Tay,
Actually it's not,though i'm a great fan of your Ammo crate drop with a Parachute and Smoke Marker.Which i beleive is on this Forum.
What i'm trying to simulate is a resupply after an engagement,on completion of the first task and before setting off on the second task.This would give the AI the chance to reload (hence my question on the "help"part of this forum).What i'm after is for a truck to drive up and after waiting say 5 seconds drives off leaving an ammo crate.I imagine the ammo crate would have to be "spawned"by a trigger when the truck reaches it's waypoint.It seems more "dynamic/realistic" that way,random artillery would be falling so he wouldn't want to stay anyway.But,i have no idea how to script a "spawn".
The airial side came in only because i thought i'd seen on the Arma Forums a helicopter fly in and drop off an ammo crate.I thought it was a great idea(and i still do) and wanted to incorporate it into If.As air drops already exist(thanks to you)and the series of missions i'm doing take place in unflyable weather a truck/jeep/halftrack seemed a great WW2 alternative.Any ideas?
And thanks for your time.

Use the same airdrop script but change the li2 to a truck. Add time to the waypoint Before it executes the parachute script. And change the parachute script to skip the whole drop and just spawn the ammo by the truck. Then the final waypoint to make him drive far before deleting.

It's all there one way or the other. It's about molding it to your needs.

Santiago, the ammo drop script isn't mine I just modified the one you saw in a mission so it was just one box rather than the 5 that are in the script linked. And a good workround Santa

Hi there Santa Six,
First of all thanks for the effort you've put into my question.I've just managed to find another solution.It's much,much more basic(almost childlish by comparison) and is based on a Flare spawn that Tay talked me through some time ago.What you said about adapting  information that you already had got me thinking.

Here it is.

1 Place a marker on the Map,call it "marker1";

2 Place a trigger on a road with say 10meter diameter.Activation "your side" "once" "present" and Type "none".

3:In the Condition box of the trigger put "vehicle1 in thislist";

4:In the Act box put:flare1 = "LIB_BasicAmmunitionBox_SU" createVehicle [(getmarkerpos "marker1" select 0),(getMarkerpos "marker1" select 1), 1]

     As you can see i play with Russians hence the Russian Ammo box.

5 Place a vehicle(the one you want to drop off the Ammo box) on the map and call it "vehicle1"

6 Place some waypoints for the vehicle with one waypoint directly in the middle of the trigger you have just created.Double click this waypoint and in the "time out" line where there are three boxes "min,mid,max " put the number 8 in each.

7:Add another waypoint for "vehicle1" so it drives off.Delete with a trigger or put it into an out of the way part of the map.

8:Add an activation trigger for "vehicle1" so it will move when you want to do the resupply.

What you now should have is when a trigger is triggered a vehicle drives up to a waypoint, waits, and drives off leaving behind an Ammo Box.

Like i said Santa Six,it's much cruder than yours but it does work.I'm now going to see if i can't get your version to work!

Many,Many thanks to all.

I've done something like that before. I thought you wanted a random any place any time drop off like the plane. The only issue with what I did is that the AI aren't the best drivers
